I don’t understand the connection between the title and two images.
Person asks what the craziest thing that happened at commenter high schools was. OP replies describing the origin of the protests currently happening in France without mentioning France, riots, or any kind of violence. They then received an account ban because that comment promotes violence.
The connection is very loose, hence the post. The below is the OP, the top is the ban message they got from Reddit (which is completely unreasonable).
Why is the name blurred out when you made the same named account here?
OpSec 💯
LOL
There are some communities that have a no doxxing policy even if it’s yourself. I didn’t check where this was cross-posted from but that may be it
I sent it to a massive discord server before this. they don’t have to know my username on reddit lol
Get over it and quit using reddit.
Yes, but also it has materially detrimental effects on democracy because the vast majority of people haven’t gotten to that realization yet.
It is fundamentally not OK for platforms like Reddit to be doing this and blaming the users doesn’t make it so.
I got banned last year for saying “we really need a revolution” so 🤷
i just noticed they started to prevent collapsed comments from loading on old reddit recently too.
Well, it is likely this is not an actual comment but a joke. That joke is on the line for encouraging/justifying violence. The punishment is very mild. That’s not that outrageous.
Pubishment for what?
Typing the word ‘children’ and ‘revolution’ and ‘schools’ in the same post, apparently.
Pubishment for what?
Visiting a bar or saloon, naturally.
Now I deserve punishment, I suppose.
In case this is an honest question instead of just you being mean: They make light of the protest movement and the ongoing violence, justifying and demeaning said violence.
In what way do they “make light of the […]ongoing violence”? Their comment doesn’t read like a joke. Maybe it’s a lie (which seems likely), but regardless of whether it’s true or a joke they’re in no way talking about the violence - they’re only talking about the protest, which is absolutely justified. People have the right to protest; they have the right to revolt.
Can’t have talk of protests exciting everyone on one of the biggest platforms that ai’s pull live/new data from. Then more people might want to protest.
The auto mods heavily clamp down on anything “touchy” and will use even the slightest hint of any rule breaking as a justification to make you naturally avoid talking about those issues. Try to quote a funny meme that has nothing to do with violence but can be mistrued in a reddit thread about Gaza. Everyone could understand what your innocent intention was, and might even be heavily upvoted, but you still will get banned.
