I would have hoped that people would have looked any of this up by now. It’s trivial to do so.

But to save you even that much efffort: Impeachments happens in the House. It is a vote, and that means it largely happens along party lines. If sufficient votes are cast in the House to impeach, it goes to the Senate to vote for removal, which requires a two-thirds majority. It is extremely unlikely to happen, and so far when he was impeached, he was not removed by the Senate.

Does it do anything? Yes and no. It is a political process, not a criminal/judicial one, so some people can argue that it’s just politics, but also nobody has been impeached twice before. It’s also a matter of norms, so it is quite possible that Republicans will now impeach any Democrat president from here until our political system fails. So while impeachment definitely meant something in the past (although arguably even with Clinton’s impeachment, the impeachment itself was a political witch hunt), it is certainly meaning less and less as time goes by. It SHOULD mean something, but then again we shouldn’t be dealing with fascism, but here we are.

If by “sticks” you mean the Senate votes to remove… they won’t. There’s not sufficient votes. That’s the consequence of years of fascist propaganda leading to Republicans controlling enough of Congress to stop the needed votes.

If you have a Publix within range, for example, their “naked wings” are quite tasty. While they do season them lightly with salt and some sort of spice, they’re basically just fried wings, but very tasty.

Nothing prevents you from supporting better candidates. But you should always support a better (or less shitty) candidate in a primary/election where possible.

Canvas for the politician you prefer before the primary, then vote for them if they make it into the primary. If they or whatever other candidate you like less makes it into the general, voting for them is still better than voting for the party running a candidate that would be worse.

Meanwhile, doing the above does not prevent anyone from trying to organize protests to throw out the system and replace with a new one, or support an alternate party, although the tipping point for where it makes sense to vote for a third party is difficult, because any time people vote enough for a third party such that the less-evil party also loses, everyone loses.

Meanwhile, on social issues - things like human rights - there is rather more difference between the two parties.
