You can go to a bank and buy a half dollar for 2 quarters
No you can’t I called all banks in 3 counties and they all said we don’t carry those and they are rareties. I looked online and it 10 or so dollars for a fifty cent piece.
The person who answered the phone is a fucking moron. I bought $2 bills at my bank. They ain’t rare they’re minted by the millions.
Just Monday I went to one of our local banks and picked up $10 in half dollars. Not sure what the problem is with your banks.

There’s a difference between your banks not wanting to have them available and them actually being rare. They aren’t rare, just not often used for paying for things.
Doesn’t make it any easier to find one if local banks aren’t keeping them available, but that’s what it is.
