no stupid questions is to allow you to ask things you might be embarrassed about, like things you “should” know already as an adult, mildly taboo topics that people generally aren’t willing to talk about in polite company, or questions that might come charged with a bit of controversy. I’m sure that doesn’t cover all the cases, but that’s the general vibe I get.
Ask: what’s the velocity of a swallow carrying a coconut? I can’t find an answer after a few days of research and it’s really hard to catch one to attach.

That’s just a reference to Hot Shots. But they’re the rectangular metal things with lids that have a spot for those fuel cans underneath that get lit to keep the food warm. There are round ones, too, but I’ve never seen one of those IRL.

Well, one of my posts got deleted recently. It wasn’t even remotely close to NSFW.
I don’t know the original intention of this community, but I think it is good to have this community on Piefed as nostupidquestions communities are only on Lemmy.
When I was a mod in the original !ask@lemm.ee, the biggest sell was it being an alternative to !asklemmy@lemmy.world with more lax rules, which I mod as well. And the name was specifically chosen to be “ask” without any specific fediverse platform name attached so that the whole fediverse feels invited and not just lemmings.
Does the lemm.ee community still exist ? It says that the community is not found.
It only exists in a phantom state. If your instance didn’t fetch it while lemm.ee was still operating, then no. If it did, then you will still see it, but any new posts or in general any kind of activity in phantom communities won’t be federated to other instances (they only appear for users in your instance or not at all).
I still have the community in the list of communities I moderate, for example.
It sort of has Lemmy in the name, but less!
I suppose you can put in any type of question here and the moderators would allow it.
