I’m just that people like it!

I worry that I’m stepping on people’s jokes a bit when I come in with facts, but I’ve just about embraced it as my thing.

It gets me to go over things that I may have already shared a while back but haven’t learned any more about to bring it up again. Sharing it again lets new people see some of the good stuff from older posts they’ve missed or stuff we just forgot about since there is so much cool stuff about owls.

I get it: I have been called a “Debbie Downer” for spitting facts and trivia after a joke… I’m sorry, I thought it was interesting, sorry they didn’t. I think some people just have a different relationship with learning and knowledge. They seem to find it a negative grind, and that sucks. At least to me.

I am always delighted to get both a laugh and some knowledge. I remember when you first discussed owls’ eating habits and water consumption, but getting a refresher is great. I don’t understand people who get mad about reposts, unless they are hideously egregious. Furthermore, there are always new people, like you say, who haven’t had the pleasure of learning about it the first time.

Keep up the great work, anon! It is always a pleasure when you come across my feed. I hope to contribute more to the community as I can. It is really hard to get out of the habit of lurking.

I always appreciate the support you guys give. If people don’t want to read it, they’re free not to. I make a few jokes, but I leave most of that for you guys to have fun with. I’m here for the research and to chat with you all.
