Well, if you are never there, then you aren’t there for them. Thus, they will not be there for you in the future, because you haven’t bothered to be there when they needed it.
Been on Lemmy for a year and some on .world, but switched to .today to support lemmy decentralization.

Of course! I hope you find a way to enjoy Who. It is a lovely universe. The other idea would be to look into Big Finish audio—they do a lot of interesting Who stuff.
Well, I appreciate your perseverance! I certainly hope we get some kind of resolution, or at least the color wears off and we all just forget about it. I really don’t want this to become a trend.
Well, I am glad(?) it just seems to be the one. Did anything come of the idea that it could be deicing solution from a plane? I kind of checked out of this drama for a bit.
If you like the lore but watching it makes you want to stab your eyes out, look into the Target novelisations. They are mostly faithful to what was on the TV, and you get to use your imagination instead of BBC’s production values. They were usually written by the same person who wrote the script. I actually prefer the novels for several stories and was really, really disappointed when I finally had a chance to see them. A big bonus is the Target books are pretty cheap and easy to find used.
This is so crazy. This picture looks just like the OP… please tell me this could still be the same single snowy and this isn’t becoming a thing people do to snowies…
It’s definitely something that you have to grow up with. I was lucky to have an uncle who was obsessed with The Fourth Doctor when I was a child, and my love of the show comes from that. I wish some of the older stuff could be redone: it’s unwatchable for many because it was made for an audience who had tiny black and white TVs and a great deal more patience.
At least for me:
Dr. Who (First through Fifth Doctor mostly)
Original Star Trek
Star Trek: TNG
Star Trek: Voyager
Star Trek: DS9
Yes! Totally. Exact same energy. Must be a predator thing, and why I love cats and owls so much. That kind of vigilance definitely speaks to me: “Shall I kill you? No. Not now. I shall conserve my energy until I must kill.”
He looks sleepy, but it is probably just how his face is… kind of like I’m not bitchy, that’s just how my face is. But he looks so snuggly and stuff. I think the kids today are calling it… eepy?
Yeah! I love that!!
I get it: I have been called a “Debbie Downer” for spitting facts and trivia after a joke… I’m sorry, I thought it was interesting, sorry they didn’t. I think some people just have a different relationship with learning and knowledge. They seem to find it a negative grind, and that sucks. At least to me.
I am always delighted to get both a laugh and some knowledge. I remember when you first discussed owls’ eating habits and water consumption, but getting a refresher is great. I don’t understand people who get mad about reposts, unless they are hideously egregious. Furthermore, there are always new people, like you say, who haven’t had the pleasure of learning about it the first time.
Keep up the great work, anon! It is always a pleasure when you come across my feed. I hope to contribute more to the community as I can. It is really hard to get out of the habit of lurking.
You are the best, anon. Thank you for always educating me!
That’s a really good Sam Jack! It’s like you figured out the magic spell that makes him and can do it on command. This one does seem to have more of the energy of the work I saw you do before SJ, so I think that is what you mean by stylized? It’s still a faithful rendition of the original, but it has more of its own personality. His shirt is where I see it the most. Thanks for posting; I hope people with actual artistic skill can give you actual feedback.
Thank you for sharing. I always really appreciate learning more about your life, because it has been so different from mine. Thank you also for your contributions to lemmy in general.
Cool. Will do. Thanks, and have a great weekend!
Yeah, it’s so true! I’ve gotten close on bourbon street watching an amazing mostly cover band, but I never expect to find fitz again. But there’s gotta be bands like that… Right? Or has it all been that fucked by the industry?
Fitzgeralds was my place in the 90s. Motherfuckers paved “paradise” and put up a parking lot. It enrages me every time I see it. My friends used to play downstairs at Fitz all the time back then. Looking for that vibe: clearly I’m not a teenager anymore, but I love a good dive and a good show. Doesn’t really matter the genre as long as the musicians are good and know how to put on a show. Austin was also great for this, emos and hole in the wall were great, and taco land in SA was amazing until it wasn’t.
I mean, is there anything like that in town?? Or do I need to go out to spring because that’s where people can afford to have a good time? It would not surprise me and I’d be happy to even if that’s quite a drive for me. I’m just kind of lost because I’m trying to get back to what I love, but I’ve been so isolated I don’t know anything anymore.
I mean, I know numbers is still around. That’s good. But there’s got to be something else where good music is happening.
Sorry, not meaning to dump. I really appreciate your recommendations.
So is shit in town just crap? I honestly wouldn’t be surprised, but I was hoping there might be something closer in.
Both of those look pretty awesome, though. Thanks for the recommendations.
Do you think this is just a troll or an actual teen? I don’t want to waste my time on trolls.
