  • If you like the lore but watching it makes you want to stab your eyes out, look into the Target novelisations. They are mostly faithful to what was on the TV, and you get to use your imagination instead of BBC’s production values. They were usually written by the same person who wrote the script. I actually prefer the novels for several stories and was really, really disappointed when I finally had a chance to see them. A big bonus is the Target books are pretty cheap and easy to find used.

  • I get it: I have been called a “Debbie Downer” for spitting facts and trivia after a joke… I’m sorry, I thought it was interesting, sorry they didn’t. I think some people just have a different relationship with learning and knowledge. They seem to find it a negative grind, and that sucks. At least to me.

I am always delighted to get both a laugh and some knowledge. I remember when you first discussed owls’ eating habits and water consumption, but getting a refresher is great. I don’t understand people who get mad about reposts, unless they are hideously egregious. Furthermore, there are always new people, like you say, who haven’t had the pleasure of learning about it the first time.

Keep up the great work, anon! It is always a pleasure when you come across my feed. I hope to contribute more to the community as I can. It is really hard to get out of the habit of lurking.

  • That’s a really good Sam Jack! It’s like you figured out the magic spell that makes him and can do it on command. This one does seem to have more of the energy of the work I saw you do before SJ, so I think that is what you mean by stylized? It’s still a faithful rendition of the original, but it has more of its own personality. His shirt is where I see it the most. Thanks for posting; I hope people with actual artistic skill can give you actual feedback.

  • Fitzgeralds was my place in the 90s. Motherfuckers paved “paradise” and put up a parking lot. It enrages me every time I see it. My friends used to play downstairs at Fitz all the time back then. Looking for that vibe: clearly I’m not a teenager anymore, but I love a good dive and a good show. Doesn’t really matter the genre as long as the musicians are good and know how to put on a show. Austin was also great for this, emos and hole in the wall were great, and taco land in SA was amazing until it wasn’t.

I mean, is there anything like that in town?? Or do I need to go out to spring because that’s where people can afford to have a good time? It would not surprise me and I’d be happy to even if that’s quite a drive for me. I’m just kind of lost because I’m trying to get back to what I love, but I’ve been so isolated I don’t know anything anymore.

I mean, I know numbers is still around. That’s good. But there’s got to be something else where good music is happening.

Sorry, not meaning to dump. I really appreciate your recommendations.
