One of the endearing things about Reddit was coming in and discovering some weird-ass new trend that had blown up in the space of 24 hours that everybody else had already gotten on board for. “Ok, I guess we’re doing people doing paintings of other people standing next to their paintings and making a big chain, that’s cool.” There’d be the initial trend itself, then reaction-memes to that trend, then shitposts making fun of the trend, then finally, after a span of time, TIL posts talking about the trend after the fact.
