I understand your point, but that’s what this law would theoritcally accomplish. It would limit representatives/senators from being able to trade stocks (a higher standard than an average citizen). While they can buy/sell stocks before the law, that’s just the current state of affairs.

Regarding the timing of trades, etc. The value of their insider knowledge is really only beneficial over long periods of time. Yes they could buy/sell stock in the interim, but preventing it long term would be an actual win.

That’s how laws work. You can’t generally make something illegal retroactively, otherwise you could change the law to persecute anyone you want.

In the US at least it’s not about required, but more legacy support. There are still a lot of old systems that work, but use old technology.

Look into online banks like Ally or credit unions. I’m 99%sure that Ally has no minimum requirement and about a 4% interest rate for money in your savings account.

I think the difference here is that floridians at local and state level want to cut funding, so they’re welcome to do that. The issue is, if that’s what you vote for and enact, don’t then turn around and ask for government money and/or turn down other states when they ask for federal money (like after Sandy).

I think the worst thing about it is batman doesn’t actually solve/do much. I like that him being new/young means he isn’t infallible, but I would have liked him to have a win or two.

Having read the books though, I really enjoyed the movies. I do understand though that a lot of that enjoyment came from the background knowledge I got from the books.

Yeah, I think this is something that people continously fail to realize, sports have been split by sex/gender so that sport events aren’t dominated by one sex/gender. If you’re drawing lines to protect one group you’ve opened up the can of worms about where that line is drawn.

Is there any good videos/articles detailing real world use cases for this stuff. I watched a couple of things on Recall, but there wasn’t much in terms of what I would actually use it for. While I do have issues from time to time finding things, it doesn’t feel like that big of a mover for the cost (privacy or compute).

I’m glad to hear that it isn’t procedurally generated. Chasm had some good gameplay, but the procedurally generated design didnt really work well with it, or probably any Metroidvania games.
