It’s common enough that it turned up on Lemmy.

Here’s a few relatively modern examples to illustrate my point:

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/nimrod
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gay
https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/random
It doesn’t matter if you agree with it, it comes down to common usage.
Here’s a nice list and explanation of how English is a living language:

But go ahead and down vote me over dictionary squabbles. I’ll just call you a fool* for arguing.

These days “borrow” can mean “lend” because it all comes down to common usage. Dictionary writers are historians of language, not arbiters of it.

Preach it louder!

He is whatever you imagine him to be. You just gotta have louder faith than everyone else.
I can get similar results without the ethical fallout of using AI just by holding my hand up to the sun.

It isn’t a mistake; it’s the excuse to consolidate and take the monopoly on compute power.

These aren’t mistakes. They want to sell you shitty tablets and stream your computer to you for a monthly subscription. That’s the endgame.

Unfortunately population decline isn’t always about low birth rates.
AI won’t pop. Politicians are cheap compared to data centers. The governments are just going to print more money to pay for this shit. At least that’s what the cynic in me thinks.
My mistake, I will try again:
I am linking a sentence with sausage links in it to my next sentence by way of semicolon; Coincidentally, I pass digested sausage links by way of regular colon.
I don’t think I’ll ever get it.
They’re useful if you want to link two related sentences; Sausage links are good too.
It’ll be painful. But it will end. And then it will happen again, because human beings have been doing this shit to themselves over and over again for the entirety of our existence.

If it weren’t for Windows 11, I may have never installed Linux. So I think it’s the best Windows yet.

CEOs aren’t interested in making and selling things that people actually want. They’re just parasites trying to pump and dump the stock. Every decision makes sense when you see it as just trying to impress investors.

The trailer for that just made me want to play the original instead.

I would add that if your job requires this software, the company should be the ones providing the hardware and license to run it. If you’re freelance, well you’re not going to be running pirated software for your business if you’re serious anyway. You just build that cost into your bill and write off the expense.
My brother once farted so bad I could taste it.
No. It really sucks here.
