  • Uh, in a kinda fucked up way ngl:

RatX® coats the lining of a part of the rodent’s lower gut. This coating of the “fine hairs” in the lower gut, called villi, disrupts the messaging system to the rodents brain, causing it to stop drinking water. This leads to dehydration, blood thickening, kidney dysfunction, coma and eventual death. It also leads to a prcoess called “mummification”, which means the body of the diseased rodent will dry out, rather than decompose normally. This means a 95% reduction in smell.

  • They eat somewhere between 1-2 times a week and like once everymonth or so 😅. They are totally fine being completely ignored for up to a week (probably two) and honestly would probably survive WAY longer than that with no ill effect. Once they are settled they basically just keep going as long as their temps are fine (which is to say, if your comfy likely they are too. caveat, I live in New England and we let our house get to low60s which is too cool but 68+ is fine. I use a super low watt ceramic heater to keep their IKEA cube shelves warm enough)

  • My weird plug for an exotic pet to impulse purchase: Tarantulas. Specifically a new world (read: America’s mostly) tarantula since they are chill and as a rule mostly harmless. Worst thing that happens (to you) is a bite from a massive fang (ouch) with about a beesting severity of venom (meh) but that shouldn’t happen anyway cus you shouldn’t be handling Ts in general because the worst them and honestly likely thing from interacting with you is fear, pain, or death.

The upsides as a hobby are pretty big. Their food is basically free (crickets), their waste is small and infrequent, they make zero noise have zero smell (both of these are not true of cricket feeders notably), have no real risk of escape and likely wouldn’t even if they could (at least most of mine are scaredy cats), and live for 5-20yrs depending on sex/species.

On top of the fact that the spiders themselves are basically free as far as buying the spider itself is concerned. Spiders lay hundreds of eggs, so the young unsexed individuals are kinda a dime a dozen. Depending on the day, maybe literally (I have gotten some truly crazy marketing emails from invert sellers lol)

My favorite part is that if you have one, it’s like 1% more effort to have more and you will quickly come to realize despite the fact that they are utterly unintelligent that doesn’t stop them from having oddles of personality and inner lives. They are constantly reorganizing their enclosures, moving dirt and decorations around to fit whatever their whims are at the moment just to redo it all the next week. They all have different feeding responses, one of mine hides from crickets until they wander near her hide them lunges, another attacks any movement in their enclosure with massive gusto (and zero, ZERO, grace).

Tl;dr: Tarantulas are genuinely great observational/tank pets. Like fish with 1/1000th the effort, and less dangerous. No one ever hand tens of thousand in home repair bills when their T enclosure broke like a salt water aquarium.

  • DD(First 3 of Month, All Caps)YYYY examples: 01JAN2026, 24MAR1987,20DEC3065

This is how I had to write dates when I worked for a cGMP pharma manufacturing facility and did controlled paperwork. The idea was it was it was impossible for any mistakes when reading the date, only the days were 2 digits, the month was letters, and the year was 4 digits.

Basically all of the validated SOPs were written so that anyone could pick up the paperwork and execute the instructions, and the inverse had to be true as well anyone picking up a completed SOP should be able to read and follow everything written down, and literally every step in the process required initials and date it was executed.

Fun fact, if you fucked up and wrote something wrong or illegibly you were punished twice, once because you had to strike out the mistake, initial date the strikeout and write correctly the next time, and the second was when you get stink eyed by the QA people who have to review all the paperwork before it’s scanned and logged back into documentum.

  • Seriously, I had the Ghost case for my S25 and now Tank for S26 and they are hands down the best phone cases I have ever used.

Ghost is just a solid fucking case, it feels great in the hand and held up great the entire time I had it.

Tank though is spectacular. There’s so many small things that look stupid but make total sense when you actually hold it. The little finger wells on the back, the ridges along the edges, the way the buttons feel, just all add up to phone case perfection (imo).

  • Canonically, Baphomet does have breasts as well as male features along with wings and scales, solve (dissolve) coagula (combine), pointing up and down, etc…

Whole thing is symbolism for balance and opposites. Just an edgier YinYang iirc originally dreamt up to slander/persecute the Knights Templar after they had gained too much power (and again iirc maybe have been doing some raw ass shit, but I am no KT historian and the Catholic church isn’t what you would call a neutral party in recording what happened)
