I’m a cold turkey kind of guy. Slippery slopes are hard to navigate but clean cuts are easy.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•They say you can't hear images.English
9·8 days agoIt’s really wild that the main characters had the weird habit of ending up in aerial combat every week as civilians.
Not once in my 43 years have I felt the need to ascend in my battle helicopter to save the day.

Did he recently get a kid? Because on your shoulder/chest is where all the puke and snot goes.
Whenever our legacy react native apps need to bump due to Google SDK increase I let Claude hunt down the correct dependencies and get it to a working state for me to iron out the quirks. Before it took me a week sometimes, now a day.
Not too mention it’s so extremely boring.
Someone explained to me that apparently in later comics it has been revealed that the gamma radiation that his anger resonates with is drawn from something called the green door which is created by a character known as the one below it all who is more or less Satan (gods nasty alter ego).
And apparently this is limitless so if he gets pissed enough he could destroy the universe as we know it.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•With all the bad stuff said about AI can it actually better humanity in some ways or another? Or is it just doom and gloom?English
3·1 month agoIt makes me finish my work faster and get more time for my hobbies and some for fun-projects.
Will it ever offset all the negative impacts it has and will continue to have? Pretty certainly not.

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Is Linux on a laptop with an Intel Processor + an NVidia GPU still the absolute fucking nightmare it was 10 years ago?English
7·2 months agoYeah therev was some version of it called Optimus as well I think. I installed kinoite on my old xps9570 and handed it to my brother and he’s been gaming on it so the dedicated card surely works. Can’t remember exactly what I did but I think I had to start steam with a specific param or something.
Sorry I can’t be of more help.

Technology@lemmy.world•Linus Torvalds used AI to fix a Linux bug, and now LLM critics on Linux face an uncomfortable choiceEnglish
81·2 months agoAs an individual, his LLM carbon footprint and money used to purchase AI services aren’t going to matter at all. But him being one of the world’s highest profiled software engineers who’s openly using these tools is very good publicity for them.
I think the anti ai crowd has been focusing on the slop angle too much, the horrible malpractice of these companies is the real problem imo. If it really is only slop it will die out by itself.
My 10 year old had started beating me at Chess, been practicing on Duolingo. It feels weird but this was the end goal, right? Having them surpass you and all. But yeah didn’t expect it to happen already.

Using as computer monitor, is that nice? Like coding or writing documents etc? Do they act like a monitor or do you use several workspaces so it feels like multiple monitors?
I wasn’t aware this was an option.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•This dogshit zero information design is taking over everything and it sucksEnglish
3·3 months agoWe were discussing how nice it was in the good old days to go into a rental shop and just look for movies based on the covers. Sure this design doesn’t really hit that itch but more information is not always better.
It’d be nice to just have a bunch of movies that are just random within their main category. No algorithms or marketing.

Simulation can be great for balance and bugcatching and making sure things work as expected, but what you get from a single human giving feedback is often worth more than 109s of sims.
