Steve Bannon, a longtime ally of Donald Trump, vowed investigations and prosecutions of those who have probed the former president and his political allies, declaring at a conservative gathering Saturday that Inauguration Day in 2025 will be “accountability day.”

Pointing to Trump’s recent conviction in New York, Bannon told a crowd at Turning Point Action’s “The People’s Convention” in Detroit, hours before Trump was scheduled to speak, that the former president’s allies are going to “get every single receipt.”

“You are going to be investigated, prosecuted and incarcerated,” he said. “This has nothing to do with retribution. It has nothing to do with revenge. Because retribution and revenge might be another order of magnitude. This has to do with justice.”

Bannon was referring to recent comments by Trump vowing to be his supporters’ “retribution” and saying that “sometimes revenge can be justified.”

I am not saying that I agree, and I don’t, but I think the flaw in the “this is not the time” argument is that there’s very likely not going to be a good time, ever again. One of the two sucky lib parties has openly embraced fascism. The other is incompetent but means well at best, or, at worst, complacent with running out the clock. That doesn’t end with Trump. It ends when the fascists get control of the other two branches of government and upend democracy. With the way we swing back and forth between Party A and Party B, we’ve either got a few months or four years and change. I want the four years, so I’m voting for Biden, but it’s not too hard to see that some are looking at the situation and realizing that burning slowly or burning quickly isn’t much of a choice and that now is the only chance to speak up.

Well the time sure as hell isn’t within weeks of the national conventions. A third party won’t win this year and people who want a third party to win don’t seem to be willing to do the legwork and go out and canvas for votes most of the time.

You seem to want a third party. Did you go canvas for any third party candidates at the start of this election cycle? Which one(s)? Did you also canvas for downballot candidates and not expect a third party to win the presidency but not take any lower seats?

We most likely just need to hold on for another 4-8 years. Demographics are not in the Republican’s favor. Every year more and more conservative boomers die and they’re not being replaced.
