That’s true, but “grooming” is a question of morality. it’s a specific term involving people are under the age of consent. It’s not “grooming” just because you find the relationship immoral.
A 15 year old does not have the mental capacity to understand that they are being groomed. Grooming should be illegal, however it’s tied to the legal precedent set by age of consent laws.

How it started was wrong, and I do wonder what Macrons life would have been like had he not been manipulated by someone 24 years older than him. Not that it matters, what’s done is done.

While Macron was at school they were certainly testing societal boundaries, even if French notions about such things are more relaxed.
