Please no. Look…I am glad you played Kirk, man…but your story is DONE. Picard’s story didn’t need its own show either.

Stop making rehashes FFS. Stop leveraging nostalgia and then disappointing us.

Lower Decks and Strange New Worlds: Do more of that (I know SNW is a prequel, but it explores characters that barely saw the light of day).

Fucking Orville did Star Trek better than modern Star Trek.

I was hoping maybe it was a Shatner return but not a Kirk return. But no. Of course it’s Kirk.

If he could just return as a ferneghi or something that would be amazing and actually take some air out of the big fat overheated James T. Kirk legacy.

If they want to bring him back for a few seconds and then instantly eliminate him in some painful way, I’d pay for that. But lets keep the Shatner acting to an absolute minimum, please. Maybe he can be in a shuttle with Van Damme and Steven Segal that gets depressurized and ripped apart by some alien creature in the first few seconds of the movie.

If Kirk is going to come back, it has to mean something. It has to be the show. But I was so impressed by this writer, so I said let’s talk after I’m done in Vancouver.

He had me in the first half, but thankfully this doesn’t sound like another vanity project ala Picard S1/S2 🤞

Knowing Shatner’s ego, this project will never see the light of day unless it’s a vanity project.

I don’t see Picard as a vanity project. It did try to resolve some of the the next gen story lines that was left open.

This?!? What story lines would this resolve?

Even though some don’t like the Kelvin timeline, Spock giving his last goodbye there was poignant and fitting to the story. I think Kirk said goodbye when he handed things over to Picard

It’s a matter of opinion of course, but to me Picard 1/2 suffers the same malady as S31: “all we need is a big star to sell our franchise”

Season 3 felt to me like the owners of the franchise desperately trying to salvage the final season from Patrick Stewart’s meddling.

As for Kirk’s stories you’re right he’s done if not already overdone, at least as a main character. Who knows how he may work as a supporting character 🤷‍♀️
