Maybe when theyre alone, but all the ones I see in groups theyre in groups.
I think mostly they dont know how to use them
Game chat sure, but not the other 3.
Facebook is more of a bulletin board thats gotten overrun with people selling Avon.
Reddit and Lemmy are absolutely not. They’re good for discussing niche interests, and being a shitty surrogate for actual socialisation, but I’m not going to meet my friends here.

Oscillating rapidly between “holy fuck is this what we’re being reduced to?” And “we really need more shit like this”
Why has he been whipped like a lazy farmhand?

I did stop going to parties. Not to sound like a crotchety old man who hates everything new, but do people actually put their phones away and get on with “enjoying the night”?
Every time I see people (myself included) they’re busy with their phones. Big groups of kids, adults, basically everyone. Its only the pensioners you see not using their phones all the time. Honestly its a serious question. I’m not here to argue that phonebad etc, just like, modern world different.
Like I will never know what its like to use a horse to do manual labour. Not saying that the old way is necessarily better, but the experience is something I will never have.
We’re gonna be here all day if he has to defend an entire dictionary
The Steam principle
I always wondered what the answer was but never got round to looking it up. I thought there’s no way it can be such a famous sentence and have the answer be that fucking stupid.
Maybe in the 60s or sometime when gender norms were more strictly enforced it would have been good?
Last time I was in that situation was in the Turkish barber. He had a really really thick accent and I struggle parsing the spoken word at the best of times. Out of fear of potentially being viewed racist I just nodded and gave the man a thumbs up, assuming he was probably asking if the job was OK. He came back with a cottonball of kerosene or something, set it on fire and started waving it at my ear. Turns out “ear flame” is a real thing, and what was being offered.
Motherfucker made me anxious sweat, then cast fireball “without warning”, and charged me an extra £8 for my troubles. I will forever rue the day.
But seriously what the fuck is up with people trying to sell internet deals in meat space?
If you dont have an internet connection by now you seriously have gone well out of your way to avoid it or cut it out. If you do already have an internet connection, you can use said internet to change providers.
Its more perplexing than vexing, and it vexes me so
I’m too old and pessimistic for this world.
All I can think of is how there’s guaranteed to be massive spiders, and you’d be on high alert for wolves, bears, snakes, alligators, whatever there might be wherever that is.

Soneone get Solastro a medal

I came into this thread to scoff at the idea of needing batteries for a lock.
I’m coming round to the idea…

Depends. Could my family come too and we play multiplayer?
If you asked me 20 years ago I’d have signed up so fast and would actually have gotten a little resentful when finding out its just hypothetical. Now, I’m needed. There’s nothing you could offer me that would be worth more than being here for the kids.

what do you have
Balls. Both as an answer, and a statement of disappointment over the sudden realisation I have nothing to offer.
“Does everyone wear hats in the future? Did the ozone hole get bigger?”
Biff has a certain amount of sympathy from me. At least in the first one.
Biff engages in some morally unpleasant punching-down bullying. In return Marty breaks the laws of continuity and fucks up his whole bloodline.
Its a pretty disproportionate response.
