It actually got me the job I have today, by learning to host a server and going down the road if learning how to use Linux etc when the company I work for acquired another company and we took over their production I was the only tech that new how to setup a small network and remote in to all the machines and test

I was trying to explain to my wife the strange knowledge you get from playing games over the years, and also how learning the mechanics of a lot of games makes new games that repeat them not as fun

I’m using pinchflat on it. The trickiest part was just the naming scheme in pinchflat for the videos and the library configuration on plex so it shows them correctly.

Also I got blocked by YouTube a few times because I would pause it for a while then start it up and it would download way too many so they would block me for like a month

I basically did the same thing but have a YouTube downloader that puts them on my Plex server. So I can watch a show then like a YouTube video and call it a night

Depends what you’re doing, sitting down in the shade I dont mind the heat, walking to get in a hot car I hate

Sitting on a patio drinking beers, or swimming comfortably in a lake when camping

Not sure unless you find people that want to switch over to non Microsoft etc products and you help them. I had a decent side gig getting people out of marketing companies by building them basic static websites and an email. Mainly plumbers, machine shops etc. They went from paying over a grand a month to like 20 bucks. It got out of hand from word of mouth and my lack of knowleges pretty quickly though

But also open source, self hosting, and diy tech is booming
