Threading macros, rainbow parens, and paredit style auto closing parens make lisps syntaxes pretty easy to read and manage. I think declarative style languages like ML and Haskell took me longer to get familiar with than lisp style syntax, but that’s probably just because I learned procedural languages first. And I think lisps tend to be more syntactically dense than say Python or C or other languages most people start with.

And further, more metal resource rich regions like the asteroid belt will require developing the same tech needed to establish outposts, bases, and fueling stations far from earth.

1·12 天前The change that made LLMs more effective than older approaches was the transformer model, and extended to transducers/encoders+transformers for general, non language based models. But I doubt anyone is going to call current ‘AI’ tech transformer models, maybe if it’s shortened to TMs.
There was ai used as the concept for machines that can think and reason as well as humans. I think around when marketers got people to accept splitting ai and AGI for general Intel and ai was left with whatever was left I guess reduced the scope of the meaning that continued to today’s common use of ai for non thinking, non rational models and a bit of a vacuum for the original usage.

The most efficient base is e, cosmologists describe the big bang as a rapid expansion of spacetime that doesn’t say anything about it being the beginning of time it’s just the furthest back that can be currently measured, and the egg came before the chicken.
