Yes, there is a page on there about xkcd as a whole, though the Wikipedia page is more expansive in that case: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xkcd
You can check out the explainxkcd link in the post. That site has explanations for all the xkcd comics

Fediverse@lemmy.ml•Looking for a Mastodon instances/accounts that syncs properly with Lemmy
10·18 days agoLemmy only has limited support for mastodon, so unless they tag a threadiverse community in their post it won’t reach a Lemmy instance. Mbin and since recently also Piefed have better support for mastodon
Wouldn’t it be easiest to implement Fediverse-wide SSO […] instead of figuring out some funky mapping and patform interactions?
Yes, that would be easier, but it wouldn’t be desirable. We don’t want centralized social media (https://fedecan.ca/en/guide/get-started#old-social-media). I don’t want to log in on another instance, or even just open it and figure whatever unintuitive interface they’ve invented. The Fediverse has agreed on using ActivityPub as its common language, and individual softwares utilize and extend it as they see fit. This usually means that users of different instances with different software can talk to each other, albeit with some quirks like mastodon users having to tag op or Lemmy users being unable to PieFeds emoji reactions. Sometimes though the various social-medias work too differently for them to be compatible, like how on Lemmy you follow communities, whereas on mastodon you follow users.

3·1 month agoI’ve found some communities through cross-posts, or when you like a post you could check out the other communities they’re active in
Factors may also be the higher fuel prices and being unable to fit inside a parking building

Fediverse@lemmy.world•Firefox extension for resolving Fediverse handles to URLs?English
2·2 months agoIn case I’m missing something, is there a good reason to not use the webfinger? It would be a simple request to https://
domain.tld/.well-known/webfinger?resource=acct:user@domain.tldand you would get everything you’re looking for

Fediverse@lemmy.world•Firefox extension for resolving Fediverse handles to URLs?English
2·2 months agoYou can infer the user’s id/url by querying the instance’s webfinger, like this:
curl -H Accept:\ application/jrd+json https://discuss.tchncs.de/.well-known/webfinger?resource=acct%3Adavid_%40discuss.tchncs.de | jq '.links.[] | select(.rel=="self" and .type=="application/activity+json").href'This should work for any kind of fedi instance

He has posted a bunch of memes today, he seems more like an unselective reposter than a “wife bad🤣” person. Isn’t the point of this meme more about the 14h (?!) shift and the problems it causes?
No one said anything about punching women…

Fediverse@lemmy.world•Maybe a better Threadiverse Major Defederations Graph?English
17·2 months agoThis graph is indeed a lot more intuitively readable. I think it could be improved further by avoiding needlessly crossing the arrows, like for example pawb.social -> lemmygrad.ml is crossing multiple other arrows, even though they are right next to another. Some arrows could also be shorter to avoid crossings, like beehaw.org -> sh.itjust.works
Yea, some apps don’t support showing the modlog. You can alternatively just go through the web-ui like here
