Yeah, good point. The ability to download necessary firmware updates/patches from a safe, trusted source is easy to take for granted, but that shouldn’t be overlooked.

I want weed gummy vending machines on every corner, basically they should be in my line of sight at all times.

At the same time, I want that product to be tightly regulated and batch-tested for contaminants. The dose in each serving should be low low - I’m talking 1mg in each “piece”. That way you can accurately dose as much as you want with 1mg precision, not just nibble and hope you didn’t overdo it. Each package needs to include essential info that’s easy for a beginner to read and understand.

These are very compatible opinions.

Most drug users are not wild outcasts who need to gobble up the highest dose. Those people exist somewhere but they’re an extreme minority who happen to be loud.

We want to get high - maybe even truly zooted. But we also want to stay safe and have a good time. We want a high degree of controls over what and how we choose to ingest. And we need the data so we know exactly what to expect. Highly-concentrated products don’t do any favors, they’re just the easiest to pump out at scale for a grey market audience who might not always know better.

I don’t find it too surprising really. Alcohol is over on the “good” side of the list (despite having a godawful safety profile.)

It’s hard to imagine exactly what kind of person would want to build their own Linux media server but also actually needs to contact tech support for hardware they own outright.
