This reads like a Mitch Hedberg joke haha.

I think this represents learned behavior in both humans and dogs. I work in a public setting, and interact with folks who have dogs. I won’t pet the dog if they approach me, but will offer a hand if they seem slightly friendly. No way will I handle them. I want to be prepared to get away. Sometimes I get to a point where I will be more friendly, but usually I just say hi to the dog and the people and move on.

I haven’t heard of that one! It looks like it was this and was in a lot of countries. Maybe not as much claymation as I remember, it has animation, also.

This reminds me of an old claymation show with a little yellow character who interacted with household things. Bogus? This interaction would have been incredible.

Have you considered Hilleberg? They don’t seem to be on this list for yay or nay but I think their products are still manufactured in continental Europe. Not cheap but good reputation!
Edit: this thread was bundled in with a recent “repost,” sorry to drag you back in and as a fellow backpacker I hope you found a good tent!!
Tire pressure monitoring sensors don’t transmit continually. It probably varies from one manufacturer to another, but it isn’t enough that a fixed camera could reliably catch them transmitting. They have a battery, and the accuracy has to be balanced with life span. The older systems you mentioned mostly used things like ABS sensors to sense tire inflation issues. No wireless signals with them.
I not familiar with high end vehicles, maybe jaguars etc are different but an average person will have or did have what I mentioned for the most part.
Tech changes, maybe next year we get wifi TPMS 🫤

Sports in general seem to be controlled by right-wing people. Teams owned by right leaning folks, league directors who are conservatives, international conglomerates lead by people who are corrupt fascists. I don’t know the answer to this, but for some reason competitive athletics have been taken over by terrible people. These things will make it very difficult to find resolution for this, which is frustrating since I feel like women’s sports are really growing and this “distraction” isn’t a thing. Or shouldn’t be, I think.

Ok, this really helped. I took the statement in the article WAY to literally.

revolving around a camera that can manipulate real world objects
??? I have never heard of F-stop but how would this work? Especially then!

LLMs ingest tokens as input
This helps a lot! Thanks! It fits in well with your ball point pen comparison. I see why it scales poorly.
As for your second part, I really have nothing to say. I do not know much about investing, but your earlier comment said a lot about the societal side of things. Thanks for helping through this!

I have to admit that I do not understand most of what you said :(
But, I can see that (I think) you are saying that many people in South Korea invested in AI, and that is problematic. I do know that, as you said, LLMs are resource intensive and do not really work financially. If many people there invested in AI companies, I could see them also subscribing to them. I think.
My avoidance of AI has lead to me not knowing enough about it. I don’t know what you mean by token… This is a common theme for me today! I won’t be able to avoid this if I don’t educate myself.

Believe what you like, but you’re throwing the baby out with the bath water on that one
I need more info, I may be misinformed and likely don’t know all the things. I just remember hearing a lot of hullabaloo about it then. It seemed like it was supposed to be good for all three countries, and an agreement of sorts. I don’t understand how this stuff now can be a thing beyond Trump being seemingly unchecked.

Only an absolute concaveman
fair haha. I am older and avoid AI at all costs. Sounds like I need to learn a bigger picture! Also curious what you mean by concaveman… Same as caveman?

Taco Bell goes all in on AI order kiosks and drive through, people order 9999 waters
This also speaks a lot to the state of humanity. I may well be immature or uncreative, but if presented with an AI ordering interface, I would never think about this! I do deal with the public a great deal through the course of my job, and am frequently disappointed at the level of (my) perceived narcissism. Folks are butts.

Wow, these are challenging things. It sounds like they are in a tight spot, even if I do not understand where AI subscription fits in. 20-30 years in essentially tomorrow. It must be on their minds, and maybe explains using AI for what, I don’t know, but something.

Is that a thing that is being considered? I have to admit I do not know a lot about South Korea’s economy, but based on automotive and (I think) tech sectors, they sell things world-wide. At this point, it seems like USA has an economy crash risk. IMO

So NAFTA was really just about USA having the power. “Free trade” my foot. Hope Canada (and Mexico) can successfully navigate this. How awful.

I’m not sure I understand what you mean. 25% seems like a pretty high uptake, I don’t understand the attraction but that’s a lot of people. Will that higher number mean that they will end up not seeing any worth in paying for it sooner than folks in USA?
