Repacks often save less than half the space, so if you want to share it and also use it at the same time, you will keep the repack and waste a lot of storage space. I have 4TB now and even then run out of space. I would very much prefer having the files there, linking (or copying, doesnt matter on BTRFS) the files to my bottles sandbox and using them there
