Honestly I have to force myself to take time off every year, it’s not a loyalty thing it’s just in my DNA to just work, my mom is the same, her father was the same. True, I have a good amount of PTO saved up, but I can’t take it in large groups outside of emergencies.

I just went to the Sceptre website, they have non-smart TVs listed. You just have to look at the listings. I’m sure there are other brands, I’ve just had good luck with Sceptre so I stopped looking.

I’m lucky enough to have the room for a TV and chair so I take advantage of it. Though I do mostly spend my time at the computer, so I have a small TV next tot he computer and just stream ad supported shows that I only half pay attention to. We all do what works for us.

I went with Sceptre, as for the specs, I’m half blind so all I can say is I can see everything clearly.

I mean that works too, I’m just not a fan of watching things on computer monitors. Sometimes I just want to sit in a recliner and watch a movie on a larger screen.

You can still buy dumb TVs you just have to search for them. You can also go off brand and get a dumb TV from a brand like sceptre.

Non-smart TVs are still available, they just cost a bit more. As for the connectivity issue, China has been caught hiding 5g chips in electrical control systems and city buses, and selling “free streaming” boxes with malware that scans networks and attacks targets deemed worth while. And all these TVs are being manufactured in China so why take the risk when you aren’t going to use the connectivity anyway?

This is why I don’t buy smart TVs in the first place.

I’m glad you can see the light on this issue, I live and work in a very conservative area and anytime I try to bring the business advantage argument up with the people around me they just fall back on “commie socialism” and “death panels” and then shut down on me. At this point I’m convinced even their God king trump couldn’t convince them it’s actually the better option…not that he would but you get what I’m saying.

More red tape, more paperwork, limits on sourcing of materials, increased documentation of sourcing for each piece of a product, and unlike NAFTA the USMCA isn’t permanent and has to be renegotiated from time to time so that introduces tons of uncertainty into the whole industry.

The only good thing that the USMCA did was mandate wage levels for workers in companies exporting to other member countries. But that could have just been added to NAFTA after some negotiations rather than tearing up the agreement and creating this terrible replacement.

As someone who works in international freight, USMCA is far worse than NAFTA.

You’re thinking long term strategy, YT is owned by Alphabet, a publicly traded company, they are only able to think in quarters. All that matters is short term gains for investors, and besides once the short term gains run out the investors will just dump the stock and move on to extracting what they can from the next company.

Human euthanasia should be legalized and normalized, both medically assisted suicide and euthanasia when the person is suffering but unable to make decisions for themselves. If it’s an act of mercy to euthanize a pet who is suffering, then we should be able to have the same compassion for our fellow humans.

Even if it’s not true and it’s actually more secure than we’re led to believe, his cowardice just put doubt in the minds of everyone, including the quickly growing list of enemies. And that doubt puts the aircraft and everyone on board in danger going forward.
