The point of this meme is me/us as the mere users of a website. Not from a hosting or administration perspective.
There is no gatekeeping, just a statement of a preference, as a user.
Buddy, this is a simple joke.
Nothing more.
The additional info is not the issue, that I have with this comment, and is instead greatly appreciated. But the way it is communicated is also somewhat rude.
I am very well aware, that Fandom is based on MediaWiki. That, however, does not weaken my point at all. tsg

Science Memes@mander.xyz•If God had wanted us to have nearly unlimited clean energy, He would have placed a fusion reactor into the sky.English
5·8 months agoMy the actual intention of this joke, was to point out, that even if fusion will make again use of boiling water, we already have more “suffisticated” methods to generate electricity (like e.g. solar cells via the photovoltaic effect), that make not use of the great equalizer make wheel spin fast.
But based on many comments here (and yours is not one of them), this failed.

LLMs can already understand Leet. And it is not surprising, that they can, as it still exhibits the structures of a language, which LLMs are precisely designed to represent very well.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results is not the definition of insanity. It's the definition of practice.
9·1 year agoSo No. I also was always very irritated by this quote, because from a scientific point of view this is rather incorrect, as (like you said) experiments need to be repeated, to verify the results.
