Oh yeah my favorite is a plain cheeseburger with fresh sliced jalapenos. So yummy.
In my experience the spicier jalapenos are also the tastier ones so I have a hard time imagining how this works.
I mean, I also probably wouldn’t eat the spicy stuff if I didn’t love the flavor - I’m not suffering just for bragging rights! So I’d definitely be down for trying something like the coolapenos here, just would be going into it with some skepticism that it’s anything more than a mild pepper with the mild flavor they produce.
I really hope there is more gamesmanship going on behind the scenes at his office than ‘this doesn’t add up’. But I’m a little skeptical because just game this thing out:
The west claims to 100% support Ukraine yet so far have only done enough to be sure they can stay in the fight. Not enough to outright win. What do outside observers do with that info? If I was China I would absolutely see this as hesitation on the part of the west and recognize that until the west actually does go all in, this will be a source of instability that I can build on to increase my influence in the world. So of course I’m going to play both sides as much as I can get away with, at least until there’s a indication that the west’s stance on this is changing.
Wish I could disagree with this
Agreed, somehow they don’t realize what a self-own this is no matter how you look at it
IMO it’s even worse than that. At least from what I gather from the AI/Singularity communities I follow. For them, AGI is the end goal - a creative thinking AI capable of deduction far greater than humanity. The company that owns that suddenly has the capability to solve all manner of problems that are slowing down technological advancement. Obviously owning that would be worth trillions.
However it’s really hard to see through the smoke that the Altmans etc. are putting up - how much of it is actual genuine prediction and how much is fairy tales they’re telling to get more investment?
And I’d have a hard time believing it isn’t mostly the latter because while LLMs have made some pretty impressive advancements, they still can’t have specialized discussions about pretty much anything without hallucinating answers. I have a test I use for each new generation of LLMs where I interview them about a book I’m relatively familiar with and even with the newest ChatGPT model, it still makes up a ton of shit, even often contradicting its own answers in that thread, all the while absolutely confident that it’s familiar with the source material.
Honestly, I’ll believe they’re capable of advancing AI when we get an AI that can say ‘I actually am not sure about that, let me do a search…’ or something like that.
This guy capitalisms ^
For those who haven’t had their coffee yet this morning - ‘middle class’ is yet another term they use to divide us and make us fight with each other instead of the real enemy
Mastodon has serious UX problems that even other federated networks don’t have. I’m pretty well tech literate and love Lemmy, for instance, but I just couldn’t ever get Mastodon to stick for me, like it just didn’t have the right feel and wasn’t fun to use. And if it’s not working for me then it’s never going to take off with a more general audience.
Bluesky is a lot better. It still has some issues that I feel keep it from fully replacing Twitter, especially Twitter before Elon screwed it up. But it does manage to keep me checking it, even though it’s probably only once or twice a week max.
Why does that work?
Not an expert but I’d suppose it’s nothing more than marketing getting in the way and insisting on an over engineered solution because it’s flashy
Saved it but never thought it’d come in handy
MAGA throws around all kinds of violent talk -> Democrats denounce them as a danger to democracy -> MAGA uses the denouncements as a reason for the violence
I sincerely don’t want him to get shot at any time before the election but it doesn’t make me feel bad to know that he knows there are people who want to shoot at him, especially republicans who want to shoot at him
‘Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.’.
The worst to me is everyone now including a shitty bag to put the product in. Like it MAYBE makes sense to include a case for travel headphones or something but no I do not need you to include something for me to put the external SSD drive in.
Not to mention, Russia has been waging asymetric warfare tactics against NATO powers for years. If anything, it’s that they haven’t woken up to the nature of the conflict.
Puts him in a tough spot though right, like he almost has to go on and say ‘no this is not happening on my watch, the people of Ohio don’t need to worry about this happening’. He’s probably really pissed and rightly so at Trump for putting this on the national stage.
I can’t remember what podcast I was listening to, maybe a Dan Carlin series, but it was talking about how in this post industrialization + propaganda era the breaking point for nations is far FAR more extreme than it was in the before times.
