Yeah with those prices you’d expect the ram/storage inflation was already taken into account…

There’s Urlebird but I believe you can only search hashtags and usernames, doesn’t work with links directly

I’m probably online too much, the world is definitely not going nuts
Edit: this comment is NOT delusional and it is NOT for mental health purposes
Honestly as long as we understand what they’re saying, I don’t see the point of not taking what they say seriously. Let’s just let them do their þing!
I personally find it funny, and I’m not a fan of trying to suppress extravagant people to make them fit in when they can get their point across.
I get it, sometimes it’s overwhelming. No matter how much we curate we’ll always encounter the toxicity. There’s no way to 100% avoid it… Heck even in real life you’ll come across this type of people. At the end of the day it’s a matter of how much we are willing to deal with it. Maybe ignore them? I don’t know… I was always told to not feed the trolls so I try to apply this rule everywhere.
I personally still use other types of social media, including Reddit for example, and the difference with here is night and day.
Honestly I’m jealous of you, I can’t bring myself to quit them. I always end up re creating an account and my screen time is shameful…

That’s surprising. Thank you for the explanation!

I don’t get it. The block is only a front end thing? No server side check?
I completely agree with you but wouldn’t it be less impactful if we were less online? I think quality is a thing, yes, control your feed etc. But quantity is just as important, if not more. If you’re constantly online you will naturally be more exposed to this sort of toxicity.
Edit: what I mean is that we don’t have to be as radical and completely get rid of social media. We need to spend less time on it. And Lemmy is perfect for that. No infinite scrolling, curated feed…

This isn’t a proof of mass surveillance. He’s one of the most famous people on earth and he’s probably the target of many hackers.

Well I was used to MMOs with different servers and I thought I’d have to create an account for each if I wanted to be with my friends. I didn’t know Mastodon was NOT a mere Twitter alternative, and I wasn’t familiar with the concept of the fediverse.

Oh yeah that’s true, and also that’s why we should move away from lemmy.world. It’s great to welcome newcomers but it shouldn’t be where most users are.

Might be a naive question but what prevents instance admins here on Lemmy to also give this information?

I won’t get a boner
I don’t think it’s possible, unless he lives on little saint james…
What should they use then? Confidential information shouldn’t be sent through emails anyway. Might as well just choose the convenient way for the rest.
Jobs? Nope we don’t do this anymore

I don’t know if it’s your fault honestly. It’s the system that makes you want to offshore your work to developing countries and not hire local employees. I get it. It’s cheaper. But when even independent developers start doing this we have reached post-late stage capitalism at this point

That’s why you also buy off a high ranking dude so that no one questions the 20mins.

Guess it was debunked actually, but the source is fox news…
At least he was aware of gender inequalities I guess
