  • I was responding to a judgement you made. That’s not a baseless assumption mate, there’s literal writing on the wall here of you making an ignorant comment as an admin to defend a moderation mistake.

I don’t know anything about you other than what you’ve said here and I joked you were a bigot but I admit that was hasty. You may be truly ignorant about your judgement backing that 3-6 yo kids can’t learn about queer people even though in our world people from those families have kids of their own.

It might seem reasonable to classify sexuality as something of a sexual nature, but you’re talking about people’s lives here. Someone has to go to school one day in a world where other kids parents told them their parents are perverted. The views you expressed here legitimise that world.

  • AI isn’t a danger to humanity, per se. Humans abandoning their duties of being responsible stewards of systems is a genuine source of danger though.

We already have algorithmic abuse where people are subjugated by welfare and debt systems with little oversight or flexibility. Some organisations even breaking the law and going against their stated missions to achieve goals and maintain order.

Social murder is the concept that society can kill a person through stress, pressure, abandonment and indifference to the individuals struggles and needs. We’re seeing a lot of it today with the declining health of younger people being especially alarming.

AI can scale the two things I’ve mentioned beyond limits set by current bureaucratic systems, I.e. the slowness of people running a system. Systems which already kill and harm people without AI. The small erroneous tendencies of logic and algorithms in systems will be scaled up, further and faster. AI can enable algorithmic abuse and social murder on scales comparable to mass murder.

  • It’s taken most of my life to understand how those people can reconcile the so called spiritual nature of religion with violence.

Language is a funny thing. Rational people tend to take words on their literal value before being told to look for another meaning, but some people don’t think that way. Their ideology isn’t so much strongly held but strongly ingrained.

I think conservative rhetoric tends to be more about tribalism than anything else. They don’t see the contradiction even if the literal words they’re saying contradict other beliefs they hold very strongly.

tl;dr - So long as it’s their team calling for war, it’s justified. If someone they care about is hurt, they’re the victim. Doesn’t matter what anyone else says, to them words are just other people making noises at them. It’s all about signaling and tribalism.
