The AI pictures an Indian restaurant in my area uses, really look like slop. Not like AI slop, but regular slop. Grey goo in tinfoil trays. I have no idea why they do that, the actual food looks better.

But Egyptian Hieroglyphs aren’t a logographic system. They have logographic elements as well as alphabetic, syllabic and ideographic.

And yes, you absolutely are supposed to judge a book by the cover. That’s the whole point of cover art/dustjackets- to tell you what’s inside.
For real! Unless it’s the reprint of a classic. Then they slap just any old picture onto them. I have a Yasushi Inue novel that looks as if it was a pulp samurai-western. The book does at least heavily feature samurai, though.

I’m playing The Lost Crown. A very charming point and click adventure, one of those games that give me a distinct vacation feeling. The use of photos for parts of the enviornment works quite well and gives it just the right atmosphere for an English harbour town. The puzzles aren’t good though. You are too often told exactly what to do and others just don’t work very well. But the plot and the characters are just as charming as the graphics, so it’s definitely worth a try if you like that kind of games.

Great game! Way better than the second one in my opinion.
True. It’s amazing what they could do with a bit of rope and some sticks. Thumbscrews were the most technical thing.
Even torture itself was only employed in trials very late in the middle ages. It was quite a step forward from trial by ordeal or reputation.

For the health of you and everyone around you, you should stop driving.

Funny. Over here no real estate agent would ever put a sign in front of a house for sale. They don’t even tell you the address until you message them so you can’t look at the house on your own.
I regularly talk with a schizophrenic who thinks our company is stalking him. He’s kind of chill about it, but still insists that we stop it. Man, I wish we had as much personell as he claims is spying on him.

In theory, but I think gasoline is probably the least useful product you could make with it. It would just be a wasteful process to keep outdated engines alive.
Soup is probably the cheapest kind of food you can make, apart from pasta.
Animals that have been the victim of bestiality may also join the FBI.
You can have soup all year.
My trusted local Chinese restaurant had shark fin soup until recently. It was made from chicken gristle and was delicious. I think they stopped making it because people thought it was actually shark.
We had a bunch of dead flies in the lamp. Does that count?
To be fair his team did an hour worth of diagnostics. And it was covered by public insurance.
Me too. I ended up having to go to three neurologists and the last one told me that I either have some kind of polyneuropathy or nothing and his money was on nothing. It has been some years and I hope he was right.

What you gain throug these “5 minutes” is the illusion of control. You repeat a manual task over and over just to tell yourself that this changes something. You don’t have the choice not to pay. You don’t have more control over what you pay.
I check my account movements every months. It really only takes five minutes. If there was a mistake, I’ll have the bank to check it or call the company myself. You have to do that too, in addition to doing the bills yourself.

That’s the “free” market for you. God forbid that the consumer can make an informed decision on where to buy.
Blowing a car off the ground with pressurized air is hardly flying, so it doesn’t count… I’m sure some special effects guys did this way before Tesla.
