If I have to interact with the tool daily, liking the UI would be an important point for me, alongside with privacy, cost, platform support, etc.

Games@lemmy.world•On the steam forums, there are over TWO THOUSAND PAGES of community questions about "disk write error".English
42·2 days agoSo what the issue with my car?
Well it doesn’t start upNot bashing on Steam, to be clear, but this error will not help fix the issue, user actually needs to investigate one of the many reasons this could be.
A meaningful error may be: write failed because files are locked by process xy.

Technology@lemmy.world•Proton’s CEO Cancels AI ‘Re-Interviews’English
57·4 days agoLook I’ll be honest, a CEO telling his workers their (valid) opinions are bullshit and looser thinking is absolutely unacceptable, even putting the context of security (or lack thereof) aside. If you refuse to listen to your engineers as a leadership, you have failed miserably.

Technology@lemmy.world•Some iPhone Duo screens are already failingEnglish
21·8 days agoThese Folds are built like tanks (relative to the complexity). The engineering is really impressive.
Someone correct me, but for rice alone, the cheapest rice cooker will do the job just as well as a Ninja or some shit like that, and may be easier to clean if it has just a lid compared to 5 different parts.
If you dont trust those, the Japanese style egg-shaped ones are still affordable and just work.

Yeah that sounds best, save unnecessary click/confirm but still acknowledge the query.
I doubt Netflix wants to show:
Search: A
AB (unavailable)
ABC (unavailable)
ABCD (unavailable)
So probably a gray/dark pattern…
From a UX perspective, would you prefer the site pretends they never heard of James Bond, rahter than confirming it’s existence and (un)availability?
I don’t use Netflix, so I apologise if the UI is actually intentionally misleading, but that otherwise sounds like good UX.
I usually stick to water/tea/coffee, so when I buy something, I’m probably treating myself to a milkshake. I say this because it’s only a problem with thicker liquids and drinks that are shaken, but no matter what, that shit is dripping from the lid on my face or shirt, unless I drink in the most awkward angle or enact some uncouth acts with the lid first.
Lots of varied advice in the thread. I would suggest you choose a software first, then find recommended naming for it. Many will do some organisation for you, or even let you define the structure.
I don’t like calibre, but it’s undeniably the most complete solution. I’m not a fan of having to remote into a desktop for certain actions that given frontent doesn’t support (there are many).
Some other options: https://selfh.st/apps/?tag=Books
They remain encrypted, but also stolen, decrypted and sold. It’s like schrodinger’s cat, but there’s no one to observe the state.
I identify as braindead, your generalised labels offend me
Yeah I’m confused. I also don’t remember ever using a site tha would force use of passkeys. I always have standard TOTP alongside those.

7·28 days agoAs if the same cameras aren’t pointed at everyone standing in a checkout line, let’s be honest, it makes no difference. You still swipe your card at the end, walk around with your phone radio, the face is just a cherry on top.
