Yeah, I tried his advise and my dishwasher is a bit better but nowhere near cleaning pots properly if something was cooked onto them. We tried half a dozen different detergents (powders, pods, and liquid), putting detergent in the tub directly in addition to the little door, harsher wash cycles.

I can also smell rotting on dishes once clean but wetted if we run anything through with cat food on it (though few other people around me can smell it unless it gets really bad). I can tell a week later if we ran cat food through the dishwasher because I’ll pull out a cup and fill it with water and then smell rotting halfway through my drink.
No the dishwasher doesn’t have anything stuck in the filter. Yes this still happens immediately following a couple cleaning cycles according to the manual’s instructions. No including vinegar in an upright cup doesn’t change the behaviour but it does eat through our pot bottoms something fierce. The problem completely goes away if we soak cat food dishes beforehand and make sure there are no chunks of cat food that go through the dishwasher with no changes to anything else.

The dishes are clean enough to eat off but they are not as clean as if I washed them or paid special attention when using the dishwasher. Often the pots have residue / calcium / burnt on food bits left. Cutlery periodically comes out with dried food stuck on random parts of it even if the dishwasher wasn’t very full to begin with.

It never left, but common folks decreased reliance on it substantially. When Netflix was popular my house of IT people slowed and almost stopped pirating video content entirely, there was no reason. After Netflix turned shit and half a dozen services sprung up, we cancelled Netflix and now pirate absolutely everything video. There was a slight drop while crunchyroll was good, but it becasue shit enough apparently that those in my family using it returned to pirating.

Music didn’t shitify as much though, I feel it’s improved now. I have Tidal because it’s cheap and easy to find new music. I seldom find music that I can’t listen to on Tidal.

Yeah, I use Tidal for recommendations, then download so they don’t rug-pull me.

I drove a newer rental car and tried all the safety assist features. I felt the same way after less than at hour of driving and turned everything except cruise and emergency brake off.

Don’t even get me started on how useless the voice control system was. The car voice control is usually significantry worse than the Google provided version. I frankly do not understand how Google has done such a garbage job. Voice control on Google seems to have gotten worse since it came out, not better. At least for actually getting things done rather than just asking silly questions. I can’t even effectively take a note on my motorcycle reliably by voice.

In the UK they rarely ever use stop signs apparently. Every fucking intersection where I am is a stop sign.

I did like NOS and I drink Guru Original when I want the additional caffeine, but none of the others.

The main stream ones, seem to just suck. But sometimes I think if one of the smaller brands hits you just right then it’s enjoyable the same way a Pepsi or other pop is.

Yes, rose coloured. But I’d rather be in an environment where there are a million ways to make the life of a scraping AI company hard so it’s impossible for them to account for everything.

More options, are more better especially when they are otherwise meanlessly different for users.

Also there is evidence that poisoning an AI’s training set does not require much data.

Though it does change the landscape and introduce additional computation for those scraping.

If they make a mistake and don’t account for all the ways the model can be poisoned they risk significant capital training only to identify an issue causing degraded results.

Imagine if everyone did this differently on many websites. It would cause a re-evaluation of scraping costs.

You know, if you put in one paragraph of the positive results before the “it doesn’t work” sentence I would probably read the first sentence and ignore the rest.

Immich, kDrive photo backup as well, then sync the entire Immich folder to kDrive separately. kDrive is easy to hook into TrueNAS so I use the built-in data protection to do the backup (rclone under the hood I think).

kDrive seems to have everything meaningful to me Backblaze does and SwissBackup seemed like useless garbage the three times I tried to use it.

Since Backblaze on their client app just arbitrarily removes file extensions and such to prevent them backing up and some other issue more recently. Also they are American.

After three attempts I finally have Dawarich working 🤦‍♂️. LubeLogger also looks interesting.

Yeah. I agree.
I wish Sublime had a good AI integration plugin with review edits before making them and chat windows with tabs. I’ve had to go back to VS Code (well at least I had but the Claude integration is worse than Copilot so I might go back and use the Claude desktop app).
I tried a couple but wasn’t happy and the cost of code reviewing it to be allowed to use it at work is too much work to just try them all.

I can’t even look at that because the site automatically redirects me to the Canadian home page. No notice or “no stay on the US site anyways”. Fuck them.

I have credentials shared with my parents passwords managers (and others) so when they ask for help with a service I can do it remotely for the services they want help with, but not their whole password manager.

I share company passwords in an organization so I can manage user accounts for things a user needs into but doesn’t want to manage (I can change the Snowflake password but they can still login).

I share common passwords with everyone in the house (gate codes, door codes, etc). Then when they need to change, no one is bothered or needs to take action. Also, then anyone can change it and everyone who should have the new one, does.

Yeah I really wish there was a usable workflow to collaborate with it.

Valid. But it’s also valid that it now doesn’t work for me or anyone who also helps manage other people’s lives or works on a team ¯_(ツ)_/¯

It’s the fault of my family organization or every company we use that my parent’s bank, Google, phone, laptop, etc don’t allow more than one set of credentials to access the same thing?
It’s not just that we need to be able to share credentials the once a blue moon I need to help them by logging into their account?

I guess a laptop, server, IoT device, or WiFi connection when your main device doesn’t have internet is out of scope for you?
Like fixing my laptop and not wanting to type the new password into my phone instead of copy/paste, sync when online?
And how are you sharing a file, to multiple people anywhere in the world realtime ish, without a cloud service you or someone else hosts? Doesn’t that necessitate some syncronization logic?
