1·11 days agoI used Tidal for about a year but yeah the user experience is quite lacking. I moved to Apple Music as an iPhone user and it’s been a very nice middle ground for me personally. I still buy music and merch to support the artists I love though.

Technology@lemmy.world•‘I miss old Google’: readers tell us how they search the internet in the age of AIEnglish
85·11 days agoEven without the AI overview there’s so many AI written articles in search results that it’s hard to get through the noise. Limiting search to pre 2022 only does so much when you want information on something recent.
I don’t miss the old Google, I miss the old Internet :(

About every 5 years. Also weird to hear that about Apple fans. Everyone I know with an iPhone uses it until they can’t anymore or it stops getting updates. Maybe we Europeans use our phones longer or something.

12·16 days agoJust because they make games in the same franchise doesn’t mean they don’t innovate. Mario Kart World has an open world, new mechanics that were never seen before in a racing game let alone a kart racer, and a completely new and fun game mode. Echoes of Wisdom is a completely unique game about copying and pasting items found in the world to solve puzzles and combat. Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave doubles down on the social aspect from Three Houses and introduces a multiple playable characters with their own stories that intertwine with each other.
They innovate a lot more than you think. Especially compared to Xbox and PlayStation, who just seem to release the same shit under new IP. I do wish Nintendo would release more new IP, and that they would stop releasing things like Mario Tennis at full price, but to say that they never innovate is just plain wrong.

73·17 days agoYou can say whatever you want about their (very shitty) business practices but saying that all their games are copy pasted is just flat out wrong. They make some of the best, most fun, and most innovative games out there.
It’s both now. I love the immersion of the capacitive touch but in many games you have to grip the controller like crazy to not drop something (or maybe I’m just weak lol). The button makes that a problem of the past WHILE still retaining the capacitive touch for immersion. I do wish they’d include the straps for free though.
I remember there was a way to play these games on other headsets but I think the project got abandoned. Maybe someone will pick it up again.
To add to this: there’s also mods for most new resident evil games, Minecraft, Neon White, Outer Wilds, Firewatch, and A LOT more. Beardo Benjo is pretty decent at covering these.
They sell a kit for 60 bucks with straps to turn them into the same style of controller as the index.
