They keep making right wing mistakes though. I think that points to something.

Ye Power Trippin' Bastards@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Banned from 20 communities, no explaination
3·7 months agoThe authority should be the people. A community is for the people, by the people. All a moderator needs to do is keep the community happy, by removing obvious spam. If a post is having engagement, even if it slightly breaks the rules, you let it be.
Again, a moderator is not a king. He is there to serve the will of the people. A community is made by the people/community, not by the moderator.

Ye Power Trippin' Bastards@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Banned from 20 communities, no explaination
4·7 months agoNo, creating a new community is not the way to solve this sort of thing. Removing and banning the power tripping mod is the solution.
There is also a power tripping mod on !pics!pics@lemmy.world. See this post: https://slrpnk.net/post/34743977?scrollToComments=true

1·7 months agoHey there again! I tried the PT-PT dictionary and in terms of content, it is awesome. The formatting is a bit weird though. There is no formatting, everything is in the same phrase, different definitions in the same phrase gets annoying.
Is there a way to style it? For example, a word “XYZ: 1 bla bla 2 bla2 bla2” would look much better like so:
"XYZ:
- bla bla
- bla2 bla "
Is this something that can be done on my end? I use KOReader.

pics@lemmy.world•Talking positively about this person, on reddit, gets you banned.
1·8 months agoIndeed. Let’s accelerate their demise by suggesting Lemmy (and PieFed). Make sure reddit’s pieces of shit CEO and shareholders will not get to buy their 5th yacht, 10th house, and make them unable to act on their pedophile tendencies.

1·8 months agoI did a test a few months back. Just saying “I really like Luigi” gets you banned. It got me banned. However, if you say “I really like X”, where X is a right-wing, pedophile, whoever it may be, does not. Say “I really like X”, but substitute X for, for example, Putin. It will not get you banned. Reddit staff (and CEO) is right-wing, right-wing adjacent or right-wing acting. Fuck them.

Allegedly, killed a bad person. The “allegedly” refers to the idea that Luigi was the killer, not that the dead guy was a bad person.
The only way for society to improve, is for people to be willing to sacrifice their comfort with the goal of improving society. Luigi was willing to sacrifice his comfort for the better of everyone else. The opposite makes a bad person. The dead guy was willing to sacrifice everyone’s comfort for improving his own life. One minimizes suffering. The other maximizes it.

8·8 months agoWhat?
I don’t think you know what centralization/decentralization means.
On matrix, you scan spin up a server/instance and communicate with any other matrix server/instance. On Fluxer, if you self-host, and your friend also self-hosts, your instance/server cannot communicate with your friend’s instance/server. You would have to create an account on your friend’s instance/server and vice-versa. You would also, probably, have to be running two clients in order to chat in both servers/instances.

35·9 months agoAnother word for “marketing” or “advertisement” is Manipulation. Shady, manipulative, tactics.
Fuck them. I love Lemmy because it seems like the ratio of like-minded people is much larger here. Nothing better than seeing other principled people that would rather give up some comforts than deal with ads and bend the knee to the pieces of shit that try to push them.
Even products in the supermarket (such as bread!!) come with ads in the fucking plastic wrapper. I have changed my bread brand due to this. I will absolutely give up any comfort to avoid your manipulation. I will fucking shower in cold water if it means I don’t bend the knee to pieces of shit.

I never liked Discord. First and foremost, nowadays, I cannot log into it when I am using a VPN. And back when I could, it always felt so laggy and clunky.
I think todays society is not used to performant software. Everyone just buys a new computer/smartphone every year or every 2 years or so, so they probably have compute power to run whatsoever. I run old shit. 13 year old desktops or so, with no dedicated graphics card, old smartphones, etc. I need software to be performant.

Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•With the recent "spotify hack", can one now easily get songs from that hack?English
122·9 months agoYa, I plan to do it that way. But spotify quality is enough for me, and if one could get songs easily by just searching/downloading from that hack, it would make my life much easier. I suppose the spotify hack also has more songs than soulseek.

Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•With the recent "spotify hack", can one now easily get songs from that hack?English
142·9 months agoSorry for asking a question?
If they WERE in Anna’s Archive, the answer would be “yes”. That is, one can get the songs, and one can do it by going to Anna’s Archive. However, the fact that the songs are NOT in Anna’s Archive, does not prove that the songs from that hack cannot be obtained, which was my question. They could be elsewhere. In some specific site made for that hack. Or some torrent, or something like that. Someplace I don’t know about.
Thank you for replying, regardless.

I think we should collectively, the whole society, bully this guy to suicide.
