Hmmm… I have a Samsung (and using the default phone app), and it doesn’t do that. Maybe only when using Google phone app?

The thing with winget, i believe, I that when installing non-MS store programs, you still have to go through the program’s installer.
Whereas you don’t need to look at an installer with

1·10 months agomostly why i’ve increasingly turned to forums like this for that kind of stuff (if i’ve ever needed). I think that it’s in part to a new AI suggestions thing that Google implemented. It also does the videos too i believe. Still a shame it’s happening though. :(
I’ve also seen some channels I loosely follow start using/ producing AI content unfortunately. All this AI slop on YT has greatly turned me off the platform as of late.

4·10 months agoThanks for the reply! I found it very informative, also with regards to the blocking.
I do think it’s stupid that there’s no complete block feature in Lemmy. Also just found out that it apparently has a slower development speed compared to PieFed (with regards to features). This, and the founders of lemmy, are some factors making me consider switching to PieFed. I also heard that there were more features, but also stability concerns. Also most of those extra features are not there on mobile clients yet i believe.
I also checked, and Lemmy login does not work on PieFed.

4·10 months agodo you still have to block the other two (hexbear and the other one, can’t remember the name rn.)? I have .ml blocked, but I thought the other 2 got de-federated so blocking them wouldn’t be necessary?

6·10 months agoSame here. AI slop has turned me (and my brother) off of YouTube shorts. Like 80-90% of the content is AI, and you have to play detective for most of them (to find out it’s AI generated)

3·10 months agoUsed Saily while on vacation. Loved it. Switched on thee same day (where I was going there is a 3 day wait on SIM activation I believe), and the connection was pretty good.
Yeah, that honestly sucks, sometimes I just want/ need someone to talk to.

1·10 months agoYes, but I don’t normally program in python, so I never did. When I had to, I never thought of changing it (it wasn’t for long anyways and was less of a thought out decision to do programming in vim)

64·10 months agoThis is the one thing I hate about python, because the spacing would differ between editors. I used vim to create the files on one system, and geany to edit them on another. Via uses 8 spaces in a tab (at least for me), while geany uses 4. This makes python mad, and drives me crazy.
Also, the rules for whitespace separation between things like loops, methods, and the rest of the code is annoying/ wierd (at least to me).

3·10 months agoOS: Debian (Trixie)
DE: KDE Plasma
I use vim for light edits. Currently using VSCodium, but am slowly trying out Kate. I use codeberg as Version Control, and Konsole as the terminal.
I also have notepadqq (a native alternative to notepad++), but prefer vim and am also trying to switch to Kate.
