I quit smoking by vaping, and quit vaping by slowly lowering the nicotine content in the juice until I was vaping 0% nicotine for about a month. Then I put the vape away, and no longer use nicotine.

This was years ago, when you could have trusted companies send you vape juice in the mail and be sure the nicotine content was what you ordered. They were all in on it: that eventually they’d lose customers, and that was the point. I was pretty fortunate, and it’s sad that it went from being a way to quit to just replacing cigarettes.

While I’m sure child vending machines could be done despite the slew of ethical problems they’d inevitably create, I’m pretty sure that’s a job better left to mothers. They’ve had that whole process down pat for at least a decade or two; I don’t see much point in reinventing the wheel.
