Note that this account is meant to be specially prejudicial against instances, communities, users (even admins) who either don’t seem to be acting in good faith or if they claim to do so while being inconsistent or applying a heavy dose of favoritism.
The determination is substance based and involves whether they are condoning harassment or making unevenly applied claims and accusations, not just downvotes.
This means I’m not ignoring them, just not even seeing them

Technology@lemmy.world•PlayStation Wants To Prove In Court That You Don't Own Your Digital Games
395·1 month agoSadly, catchy slogans don’t hold up in court. Better to buy from distributors who don’t try to make that claim, like GOG - even if they won’t put Nine Sols on the store to avoid offending many gamers.

4·1 month agoThe funny thing is that Lake America doesn’t even associate it to the US, it just makes the name more ambiguous. Of course, the Trump admin would never have suggested naming it Lake New York because the US government is even alienating their own states at this point.

World News@lemmy.world•Ex-Pussy Riot member Rita Flores says she was FSB informant for nearly 3 years before escaping Russia
72·1 month agoOr in other words, you get immediately quashed, your existence meant nothing, and you get to reveal nothing. Quite a pipe dream to think you are “going loudly publicly” in Russia. I’ll take the “rat” any day of the week over ineffective/false bravado, at least one actually ratted out what needed to be ratted out while the other just goes to Siberia indefinitely.

World News@lemmy.world•Ex-Pussy Riot member Rita Flores says she was FSB informant for nearly 3 years before escaping Russia
714·1 month agoThe article details the several ways she sabotaged their information gathering attempts and how she eventually had to leave after she was told to get involved in an assassination attempt. Meanwhile, you are a TIE fighter pilot for the empire as far as I can tell.
She didn’t offer herself up to “be a rat”, she was threatened and detained over and over again while they tried to butter her up, acting like she was helping them was the most immediate way to stop the harassment until she eventually left on her own. She could just have as easily complied, become rich, and had no one know about her complicity.
More tankies and tankie tactics should be outed this way.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•The water wars have started, and it's not between countries, it's between neighborhoods and data centers.
45·2 months agoIt’s about the cheaper method of cooling, there’s no need for them to have to waste water if they recycled it correctly. It’s really a war about the latest hot investment getting all the socialist policies from the government versus people being milked through do-or-die capitalism by a government that only does the bare minimum to fulfill their obligations to them.

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•"Chinese courts have ruled that gaming accounts, in-game items, and digital purchases can be passed on to family after death, setting a major legal precedent for digital ownership."
65·3 months agoChina is only as bad as your tendency to criticize your government. Free speech and associated quality issues aside, it has to function as one.
Ninja running with bomb vests, what devil has been unleashed.
Begs the question why a lot of your society idealizes the mechanisms that give rise to those Sociopathic Oligarchs. They didn’t spring out of nowhere. Elon Musk is not anyone special. Trump isn’t anyone special. It’s not a just switch the dial problem, it’s a deeply rooted institutional one that will either churn out mild oligarchs at best or wannabe fascists at worst. Trump thrives on an exaggeration of an identity that does exist for a lot of Americans.
Your current system will never do that, and you’ve trained yourself to believe the only viable solution that is widely accepted throughout the world, secession, makes you a slave supporter. There are some states that would start putting them in prison for their crimes, but which ironically enough will never be allowed to by the same gaslighters that want to praise the original secessionists.
So what was it, was the war against secession a war against slavery, or was it a war to maintain American Hegemony for the oligarchs that could see beyond their slave farms and who ended up coining the modern day corporation? Because if it was to fight slavery, gotta tell you, the EU allowed the UK to leave without a problem and without weakening their regulations for private interests.
The problem is the corruption at the level where accepting or not matters. There’s always corruption, but competing interests can help dissipate organized attempts at it.
It’s following more of an OAuth model in the EU rather than give private-company-selling-your-data-off-to-Palantir model.
It boggles my mind why Americans and the UK would accept this.
Wait, no it doesn’t.
