I recommend you save a single frame from several versions of a film (VLC: Shift+S) and flip through them quickly in an image viewer that instantly jumps to the next image (Eye of GNOME) to see the differences.
I’ve found surprising differences in cropping, aspect ratio, brightness, and color tone - some people are just incompetent at encoding.
With good but heavy compression, only the finest details are blurred - especially film grain disappears when file size goes down from huge to big. That’s actually a plus sometimes when there’s so much grain I start itching and thinking of an ants’ nest.
My Sony phone records UHD @ 120fps in h.265, 60GB/hour. I’ve never seen a BluRay remux take that much space, but surely they exist.

My Sony’s battery lasts a week in sparse use with /e/OS. It was the surveillance wasting energy.

There’s 400 million monthly active users on Quora (of which tens of percent are bots).
That link is in my answer.

Worryingly Murena (main /e/OS developer) is not selling it there:

Dollaridoos?
Sells for $649.99 / £569 (roughly AU$1,100)

That one is well supported by /e/OS.

Not from Murena (main /e/OS developer):

One good function is cooling while no-one’s in the room, so that the fridge goes quiet when anyone is in hearing distance. Decibel limits for set times of day works about the same.
It’s not just a pump, it’s a linear compressor driven at any frequency or stroke length accoring to the situation, and there’s a variable speed fan with lots of valves for directing cold air to where warmth is detected. It’s hard to hear when the compressor starts because it slowly sneaks up to full speed and full stroke over a minute.
I still haven’t dared to give my LG fridge-freezer network access, but it may have already found its way out via a neighbour’s LG TV.

I just stumbled upon the term and ran with it.
The experience of deprivation: Does relative more than absolute status predict hostility?
“the absolute level of how well‐off people are”, “objective resources”
I guess when there’s pure relative change of status, absolute status is assumed to stay the same:

Ah, my bad. I would have understood this form on the first try:
“There’s a special hell for these sorts.” – Shepard Book, Firefly

Must be nice and pacifying to believe that.
I think they die of old age rich and powerful, and that’s the end of it, unless we make it otherwise now.

Some people believe relative status is more important than absolute, so kicking others down is good.
The arms race will go on until it is regulated and the regulations enforced.

Important, timely post. I think all the downvoters are cunts. This topic should not be suppressed, especially now.
