At least for me it does, I have not achieved certain things I wanted because of lack of self-discipline and then lack of productivity. So it’s real to me. But if one accepts the puddle they are in (not judging), maybe then productivity won’t matter. i.e., You have to become a Jain or something (again, not judging, they probably will stay happier than me). edit: Your second point explains more, but productivity will make me happy, I know it. So, this discussion is rendered moot for me.

I know the “American dream” isn’t really accessible if you’re really downtrodden, but it’s a hell of a deal from where I stand. A friend of mine had something witty to say about " the Indian dream", when I asked him about it, he said “The Indian dream is to live the American Dream” lol!

I agree, but we have crossed a limit between self-love and self-obsession. It’s hindering progress because people in India are not even ready to acknowledge what’s wrong with our priorities, culture and way of living and are calling anyone who questions their way of life anti-national. Sometimes, it feels like I am living in Eritrea or something!

I am pretty sure climate change is/will be a disaster for India, but I am betting on the capability of Indians as well as other third world countries to develop economically and be better prepared to face the consequences of climate change. Because I know for a fact that collective action problem is not solvable.

I love Nuclear, what’s absolutely stupid about some climate activists is their opposition to it. I mean, it’s the cleanest and the least deadly form of energy. Let’s hope someday we will reach enough efficiency that fusion energy would be feasible, it’s absolutely everything you can wish for and more. Literal free energy! We have it, it has generated energy, but it has generated less energy than we put into it if I am not wrong, would be absolutely stunning if we can increase it’s efficiency. This is the dream!

I am kinda split on the issue. I am ok with Ukraine getting more resources as it makes sense for the west to make Ukraine fight their own battles, but at the same time, I really wish there was a ceasefire to the fighting.

I don’t think you know the meaning of the word genocide. I have my own issues with Israel’s support for the settler occupation of West Bank, but in no may is Israel committing a genocide. The population nearly multiplied multiple folds since 1948. Israeli government fortunately has no will for a genocide of any people though they have the capability to commit one, while on the other hand you have the Nazis 2.0 who want to repeat the Holocaust but are incapable of repeating it for Israel is way too stronger than all their allies and themselves put together. If the shoe was on the other foot, there would be no jews in the middle east as the supposed peace partners of Israel themselves openly say they want to push the jews to the sea.

I mean, I don’t want Russia to win, but I have no problem with accepting facts where I see them. I think almost everyone here would agree that both the countries involved have lost much more than they can ever gain out of this war.
