I guess I was a little underwhelmed by the plot. Compare it to Nausicaa, which has a similar situation in which the Tolmekians initially seem “evil” but eventually it seems they just want to bring back humanity. The climax of the film is pretty obvious in Nausicaa, and as I remember Mononoke had it’s own “moment of finding balance”, but it was a little less convincing. So yeah, maybe I’ll get more out of it this time.
I don’t care whatcha say, 10,000 BC was a great film.
inside you there are two clowns
If you do, please cross-post it to !fedigrow@lemm.ee.
It just keeps getting better.
It was important to add the commentary “Ouch.” The post really made no sense without it. /s
I think they were defederated from a lot of places, but are still active elsewhere. Maybe https://lemmy.dbzer0.com ?
Sharing bathroom and kitchen can be a hassle, but it’s much easier now than later (if you ever decide to start a family.)
unless you really really value your privacy.
OP’s privacy is currently being violated by the landlord keeping an eye on how many days they work from home. (wtf?)
so long as it was safe enough and i wasn’t going to be robbed all the time
Want to emphasize this. You end up losing based on stolen goods or physical harm.
I never really “got” this movie, and I like most Ghibli. Maybe I’ll watch it again with this in mind.
Here are a bunch of active communities (non-tech/meme/news) that I’m subscribed to:
One time I was travelling through Latin America and we stopped somewhere at a food place by the road. They said: see that huge rock in the field there? One time many years ago there was a circus in town, and everybody in the town went, and it was in that field. But then there was an earthquake, and a mudslide started, and it was wiping everything out. But a clown managed to get a bunch of kids to safety and they huddled on that rock while the mud wiped out everything around them, killing everyone else in the town.
Maybe it was all BS but it was a pretty vivid image. (edit: OMFG I remembered it mostly right.)
You’re getting downvoted, but eBay enshittified pretty early, around 2003 iirc.
I think a better summary would be: Chile told Bolivia after Bolivia tried to screw it over on an international treaty, and Bolivia dragged Peru into it. It’s an interesting history from many perspectives: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_of_the_Pacific
It’s unfortunate that people are downvoting you. Those are legitimate feelings to have. I felt the same at that age, so I made some changes (moved out of the college town I lived in, and started taking my job seriously.)
