It’s a fully functional pc that can run any software you need, with built in controls that are ergonomic and familiar to almost any potential user. It’s basically perfect for controlling things. Saw a guy on YouTube using it to control industrial robots or something since you can use the back grips as a dead-mans switch.

But everyone must think I’ve seen the rare Chicken-footed Cock-warbler or they won’t think I’m cool!

Genuinely realized in therapy that I had developed a trauma response of massive anxiety at my last job. Now I nearly have a panic attack when I make a mistake just waiting for someone to yell at me. Luckily this new place is much nicer :).

Sometimes the discrepancy is with release order vs. dvd order. So it could be something like that. Of you check TVDB it might list any alternate show orders for that series.

There are some great resources being posted, but I would like to offer a different one. MyAnonaMouse is a private tracker just for books and book adjacent things (comics, audiobooks, even radio shows) and at least at the time I was looking was said to be the best spot. It wasn’t hard to get in, the rules are VERY lenient and it’s quite easy to build up a large ratio with their points. As long as you are comfortable with using torrents and are able to leave them running to share the love with others I have yet to find a book unavailable. Feel free to ask about MaM if you have any questions.

Christmas lights come in strings with a male plug on one end and female on the other allowing for chaining together multiple lights, sometimes in the course of hanging them up people create a situation where they think they want to connect the two female ends together, thus they think this is the solution.

Sorry bud, Ive been in the thread off and on today and once I saw your post get removed I just mentally wrote off the sub altogether. It really sucks to see so many people have such a visceral reaction to something so harmless and for it to seemingly be encouraged behaviour. Not the kind of content I’d like to see here.

It’s a call-out post of a specific user including their username in which many comments are disparaging that user specifically. The post may not be calling for any action or inciting any harrasement directly, but lots of comments here are bordering on some pretty heavy vitriol for someone typing differently. I can’t make a post complaining about someone typing in German. It’s the Internet, you will encounter people doing things in different ways than you are used to, even for reasons you think are stupid but that doesn’t make it ok to create entire threads directing hate toward someone.

And before anyone asks, “apparently the t key doesn’t exist for some people, reading this shit gives me an aneurysm.” Is definitely coming from a hateful place. If you disagree then replace “the t key” with “English” and see if that feels right.

I’ve seen vastly more comments complaining about it than I have seen comments using it, just block them and move on.

You are correct in that all technically fit the definition of computers. However consumers don’t care about technical definitions or think rationally about purchases. They don’t all do a rational analysis of the products on the market that would accomplish their goals and spend accordingly. They walk into GameStop and buy one of the boxes that makes call of duty show up on their living room tv. Just like the Deck fits the definition of a handheld computer with a built in screen and controllers for playing games but isn’t stealing any customers from the switch.

Deck isn’t selling millions and it’s doing just fine. The Steam Machine will be a small computer box priced as such and there won’t be a single person that decides to buy it over a ps5, and that’s fine. Valve doesn’t have to compete with consoles cause they don’t make consoles.

Valve themselves have said that the Machine will not be priced like a console but like an entry level PC whatever that means. The only people that will notice this to buy it are people who already know what a PC is.

It’s a small computer, it isnt going after the Xbox or PS5 customers. It’s going for the people who want a computer in their living room.
