If I were in government, I would make Google liable for any ad they show. They took money for that ad, therefore they are responsible for the content of that ad.

People read the Linux handbook? I thought Linux people got by just rigorously googling things on their phone?

There’s no way an LLM is getting into those systems. They have no networking and rely on physical dials and switches. Even the code is in a completely proprietary language, using hardware custom made by the military. There’s no training data in the world that’s gonna give an LLM the kind of knowledge to get into that system. The best it could do is drive some admiral in the navy to AI psychosis and convince him to press the button, but even that’s difficult because it requires more than one guy.

And yet people think he’s in prison for diddling, but he isn’t. He’s being sued for diddling, but he’s in prison for prostitution.

LLMs are never going to become superintelligent. However, an LLM WILL kill us all if someone decides that it IS superintelligent and so puts it in charge of nuclear weapons.

I watch Disney+ for Bleach and DBZ Kai, because in the UK at least, Disney appears to be investing hard in the ‘normie’ anime.

The last job I applied for appeared very suddenly on LinkedIn on a Saturday. it was for a company I had no idea even hired software developers. I hate cookie banners because UX keep going “We keep getting holes in our analytics!” and blaming me for it. I understand the whole “We want to see at what point people are dropping out of the login process so we can make it easier for them to complete the journey” but it’s still fucking annoying when they complain about analytics drops when our users are naturally very privacy focused and I can’t control whether they deny cookies or not!

There might be ways of tracking without using cookies, but I’m apparently not allowed to use those because the GA is controlled by someone other than me.

As you can see from about 2020 onwards, there was an absolute DELUGE of trash games. Of course the majority of games aren’t going to make anything, Steam makes zero effort to curate anything. A thousand games can get released per day and the vast vast majority of them you never even notice.

The internet DOES give you unlimited access to knowledge. The problem is:

1. Not all of that knowledge is useful

2. Learning is pretty boring when compared to arguing with someone about a book neither of you have read but are too proud to admit it.

Since there’s no need for physical media anymore, the footprint of games has ballooned to the point where if you want to install CoD, it’s going to cost you 2TB of storage. They threw in 8k textures just for the 0.0001% of players that actually have an 8k TV, and there are a lot of textures since the Big Chungus update which introduced 255 different coloured Chungus textures for every weapon and weapon attachment combination in the game.

8GB RAM isn’t even enough to run Teams + Windows 11 on corporate PCs, not with all the other bullshit they make you install.

There was a Dead Rising 4? All I remember is there being a Dead Rising 3 when the Xbox One launched and everyone hated it.

It’s probably just a matter of how much you resist. A human can’t really resist very much so the Sarlacc doesn’t have to put much effort into dragging him in. A ship is pulling pretty hard, so the Sarlacc has to put much more effort into dragging it down.

So this is going to cause a bit of a panic so one of two things will happen:

1. Nvidia, AMD and Intel all massively cut the prices of their GPUs to try to make it so Lisuan can’t compete
2. Nvidia, AMD and Intel give Donald Trump a big bag of money and demand they ban Lisuan GPUs from being used anywhere in western supply chains.
