  • Ok. But fuck, if you have to have a cop out, waffle house excuse to say newsom, i have a hard time believing you. Newsome is hard for the fact that hes a “hard D” california govenor and you take a good hit in the swing states. Thats a real liability. Thats fair. Stand by it. Say that. “But Bernie” my ass. Bernie doesnt want it now.

Dont say “oh no” and not have an honest opinion that you arent willing to put your nuts behind. Get on board, or gtfo.

I swear. As a dem, and ill be honest, what pisses me off the most is that we are our own worst enemy. We waffle and push for a vauge replacement with no game plan, and bitch and moan when the answer given “just isnt quite what we want”.

We could have had an honest to god game plan a year ago. But we didnt get our shit together. Thats on you, thats on me, and its sure as fuck on the DNC. But we dont have that option now.

Fucks sake. Rant over. Sorry for being frustrated at a two word post and a half baked response. Fuck.

  • As dumb as it sounds, mutually assured destruction does have the perk of keeping everyone from using nukes. If modern countermeasures prevent that, it isnt a deterrent anymore. Updating these nukes improves the likelihood we dont have to use them.

Relevant example: russias tanks. They are outdated and weren’t adequately improved over decades. and are now getting wrecked by consumer grade drones and guys with while fancy, in all honesty, second grade hand me down rocket launchers. Before we knew this fact, they were a reasonable deterrent to not fucking with russia. Now, not so much.

  • So this is kinda neat. Because, well, rule one is the economic policies of the current president lag in actual economic change, up or down. That is assuming that the president has any1 real sway on the economy in the first place. Consensus on how much, if at all, is up to discussion. We could write literal books on it.

So just to be fair, if we take these numbers and give them a 12 month lag, how does it compare? At 8, 16, or 24 months?

Im really not trying to be a troll or upset anyone’s preconceptions. These are genuine questions based on my honest understanding of economics and the effects of government policies. Im curious.

  • Not if you share the opinion of everyone here apparently. According to lemmy, an 18 year old fed with a silver spoon and thrust into the limelight is basically pol pot 2.0

God i was a shithead at 18, but eventually i turned into a fairly decent adult. I would like to think that at least. I know the kid has a hell of an uphill battle even if he does have a decent core to him, what with the fame, fortune, and batshit insane family, but if the public opinion treats him like it does here, ill be honest, i would hate the entire world and everyone in it too, just like his old man. Seems like his mom sees that at least. I wish him well and hope he turns out nothing like his father.
