  • I was stopped by a bouncer in a bar and was asked to show ID. I had forgotten my wallet with my ID, but luckily, I have the national app for the driver’s license. But to get that, I need to log in with my bank’s secure login. That login is behind 2FA so I needed to approve with a separate app and type in my password. My password is safely stored within a password manager. But that password manager’s access on my phone requires login through the microsoft single-sign-on. The microsoft login is buggy and requires me to manually log in through a separate URL.

I was arriving at the last step of my login before the bouncer announced that he saw that I was over the age limit of 18, so I didn’t have to continue. I was 33 at the time.

Give it few weeks, and they have collected meteics that the AI did the job just as good as the human within that timeframe. A few weeks down the line, the tables have turned, the humans are in charge of notifying the AI if it makes errors. A few weeks later, metrics will show that humans hasn’t really notified anything, and humans are removed from their position, leaving the AI fully in charge.

Within a year, a critical halucination or a job which AI lacks experience to handle will happen and a very preventable accident will occur. The owners will shrug it off as something that would definitely happen with humans in charge, and that the reduced costs outweigh the additional risk.

No idea if this has any real world application, but Kerbal Space Program taught me that launching outwards to a huge planet (Jupiter), one can get a reverse gravity assist to get an extremely narrow ellptical orbit. Then you just need a light retrograde thrust at the apoapsis, and your orbit will intersect with the sun

  • To pull you back just a little “slutt datafag” is an expression for the subject which you are graduating. Or maybe google reads it as a verb + noun, since “slutt” means “stop” or “end” and assumes that “end” means “graduate” in this context. Anyways I don’t think it makes sense as a description for a person.

But you are free to call yourself a “fagperson”. This is a very common phrase to describe a person with education.

  • I’m envisioning it as a running gag for the show. 5 episodes in, it’s shown that the clip is taken out to the garage for disposal where they have a huge stack of clips from previously bought bread. 2 seasons in, it’s shown in the background that a separate garbage collection vehicle runs up to the driveway and a specially built clip hauler is used to pick up the clips. Another season in, a bread bag clip recycling station is passed while the main characters are driving somewhere. Etc.

  • Oh it is explained, though, but not consistently. I have heard explanations of that the light refraction makes the sun look lower when it moves away, to a point where its visibility is hidden by the horizon, like a mirrage of the sky. Another explanation is that the surface of the earth isn’t flat, but bulges slightly, like a dome, making the sun disappear behind the dome every day. I’m sure there are more explanations as well.

The thing about flat earth theories is that they always have an answer for whatever you throw at them. They are so committed to their idea, that they will invent reasonings on the spot which become more and more convoluted - often in conflict with other parts of their theory.
