- essentially boils down to: women are too hard for me to understand, it was better when society simply let us control them.

Lack of resistance is what brings nazi’s into power, look at the US.
Anyone telling you otherwise thinks you are a gullible idiot.

You just followed the advice 😂 the point is about finding purpose and having the agency to establish your own direction. If you dont have that, you will get bored, and substances of all varieties are just a few steps from boredom.
Sounds like you did this while younger too, not everyone has the same amount of energy 20 years later.

Everyone I’ve seen retire at 40 ends up drinking every day from midday and watching game shows for hours on end.
Point being, find something else to focus on or you’ll drift.
And enjoy!

The smugness in assuming that ‘anyone who uses x tool is stupid.’
Self awareness at critical low.

You can dev as long as you like, doesnt make you good at using a new tool by default. Its a tool, it works for millions of people. Why do you think you’re special.

You had to lean on that assumption that there’s a massive amount being produced to make this point though.
The actual operating point is that the slop is made faster than humans can WRITE it.
Reviewing 100 lines of code thats 90% there and took 3 minutes to produce is faster than writing it from scratch, there’s no getting around that.
For me the issue with it is that all (hyperbole) work is about to become reading instead of creating, dull.

Works in the other direction too, some people just let the world wash over them and work with whats at hand without deluding themselves into thinking they matter enough to change it.
Ironically, the man in question has actually changed it, but the point stands.

Yeah look back into uk political news over the past few weeks, this is almost certainly an indirect follow up to comments made about rejoining.
Yeahhh but anybody who is harshly in any direction hasn’t thought about it enough.
Some exceptions but fewer than you’d think.
At the same time, people staunchly resistant to technological advances without a hint of nuance, not historically the sharpest tools.
There’s a middle road where the technology can be useful but the economic system pushing it is cancerous.

Legislating capitalism is like cupping your hands under a tap and hoping the sink below never gets wet.

Prediction:
Plaintiff - Submits AI fueled claim.
Judiciary - Uses AI to parse claim.
Outcome: more people attempt claims because previously they were incapable of a cohesive claim, but overall time dealing with individual claims goes down. Probably not in the short term though.
I want to stay in bed, eating black licorice.

Hardly likely to be the default

Everyone picks their own hill.
Anyway. If that still isnt clicking then I leave you with this only, your trauma is your own and cant be redefined by outside sources.
But none of that means we cant try to help, support and prepare people before they (potentially) experience it.
The goal is always to make the world a little bit nicer for those who follow us.
So you do not see the distinction. You’re repeatedly arguing past the point.
Nobody is saying trauma is something you can simply reason yourself out of after the event. Ive repeatedly pointed that out even. I’m saying the meaning we attach to an event beforehand affects how we interpret and experience it.
Yes, first experiences can produce strong associations. That doesn’t establish that we should culturally frame someone’s first sexual experience as a uniquely defining threshold where something is permanently “lost”. If anything, that makes the framing more relevant, not less.
A traumatic first sexual experience may be traumatic because of what actually happened: coercion, pain, fear, humiliation, betrayal, whatever the circumstances were. But the additional belief that “this was my one special first time and now it’s been irreversibly taken from me” is a separate layer of meaning, and that layer absolutely can be socially taught.
You’re treating “trauma can form involuntarily” as though it disproves “cultural expectations can shape how experiences are understood” but those propositions don’t conflict at all.
Outlier tbf, I’ve used it at least 10 times and rarely had any sort of issue.
Edit: saying that, none of these were in the US. It sounds worse there, anecdotally.
