I used to play software Quake 1 on a POS Cyrix (remember them?) PR133 x86 clone. 30fps + 200-250ms ping. 30fps felt fine bit the lag was miserable until QW came out.

They use old tubes though. No manufacturing plant is tooled anymore to create new tubes and that’s why they probably won’t make new ones unless a super rich retro gamer funds the endeavor or something. The TVs would have to be expensive as fuck to cost justify that for niche retro gaming.

I just hate the feeling of chatting with something that is designed to sound human when I got into software devrlopment because I got tired of dealing with people in the first place.

From my perspective natural language isn’t expressive enough to describe a computer program and that’s why programming languages were created. That’s one of the reasons you gotta keep prompting over and over again.

Couple that with the gambling type feeling I get when I use them (keep rolling the dice until something is spit out that “works”), just feels gross to me.

It’s really depressing to me because I really enjoy programming and I know there are tons out there like me who have had the same passion with it.

Oidc is easier to implement than SAML. Oauth2 is for authorization (vs authentication). Its used along with Oidc, but Oidc is the authentication piece (the SSO part)

I say Oidc is easier to implement because it is json based (jwt token) vs SAML which uses XML, which is very verbose and has stuff like namespaces and xsd’s which can make XML a pain to work with.
