4·2 months agoDuckDuckGo has the concept of predefined bangs, in which a search prepended by a bang—a !, followed by one or more letters or characters and a space—redirects a search to another site. Some other sites have adopted the concept. More information can be found at https://duckduckgo.com/bangs.
[EDIT] !g and !w will take you to Google and Wikipedia, respectively.

1·5 months agoThere are local taxes on energy/electricity commerce in some number of jurisdictions, if that matters. New York, as an example: https://www.tax.ny.gov/forms/publications/st/pub718r.htm
I’d have to look into whether or how the mentioned—waived—4% state tax would apply on non-residential chargers. I would tend to imagine that any taxes on such would more-or-less cover the same.
Edited for clarity and to include link to example.

4·7 months agoMy fuzzy memory wants to say it uses/is based atop UDP, and makes it more reliable.
Just checked before posting, and that seems to be the case on a cursory glance of its wiki article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QUIC
[EDIT] Should have read the article first—and it does mention UDP by the end.

Whether you believe voting matters is not important. If it is, if does matter—if you are wrong—to speak of and treat voting as so unimportant is to risk it becomes certainty and self-fulfilling prophecy: A voter that does not believe their vote matters is less likely to vote. A vote not cast reduces the effectiveness of the voting population that may agree with the voter. Enough of these voters results in a scenario wherein anyone remaining aren’t getting what they want, and the cancerous attitude grows.
As brought up by another: Why are so many working to suppress your vote if it does not make a difference? This attitude you espouse is the very same they, themselves, spread, and works to their favor.
