I first thought it was a onesie. For babies. It went too hard then.

My kid’s teachers: “I can’t help you build barricades in front of the school. I’m legally bound to teach my scheduled classes. It would be such a pity if your barricades were already built tomorrow before 7am, and I physically couldn’t get inside. Or would 7.30 be better for y’all?”

The country didn’t want that. The president and his cronies do, as an excuse to amplify mass surveillance.
The same president we’re protesting against.

I live in very, very rural France. Country-wide protests are happening because high-school students demand better… Well, better everything.
Yesterday I carpooled with my kid’s teacher to protest in the “biggest” town (pop. 9,000) in the county. 700 people marched. Some drove over 60 miles one way to be there, when gas costs 2,35€ a liter.
In the past week two kids lost an eye, one an arm, one their lower jaw, because of police violence. (The eyes might not be beyond saving, I’m not sure.) Even middle-schoolers fight with their parents to be allowed to protest.
Country-wide headcount was 400,000. Our tiny march, every tiny local march did its part.
And that was a weekday, small protest. Saturday after next is a big one.
I’m really proud of the kids.

The way my kid kept pretending to believe in Santa for two years. I saw her point then. Thank you.

Yeah. Well. Thanks. It’s so absurd my mind reels thinking about it.

Question from far away: do even the basic, illiterate, red-capped MAGAts not believe it? Or is the fanbase waiting for its manna?

It could be shorter, but not by much: the school restaurant is a 10-minute walk from the school, and of course being French the food is ultra-local, organic, in-season home-cooked three-course meals (plus the cheese course, obviously), which you don’t scarf down).
Still, it’s annoying. My kid is very young still and 6 is very late for her.

Rural France : 8 to 6, and half-days on Wednesdays.
Or rather, 7.55 (first bell) to 6.
Same for the middle school. My 7th grader’s week goes:
Monday 8-6 (with a free half-period before lunch, and the regular 2-hour lunch break),
Tu 8-6
W 9-12
Th 8-5
F 10-5.
(But she’s an overachiever and signed up for several electives. She could shave off 5 hours from her school week.)

I know this is not an anachronism, but I’m still angry about Nolan’s Odyssey and how Greek soldiers DROWNED inside the horse during the first two TIDES.
TIDES. In the Mediterranean sea.

Tbh, des îles moukmouk, dans le centre de la France

Jamais entendu Aux îles Moukmouk, tu es de quel coin?

In the middle of no-where

Merci.
I’ll be cautious and not eat the brain or marrow.
Big ask, since I’m French, but hey.

My mom, every time she needs to re-enter her Gmail password: “I’m pretty sure there’s never been a password on my email thing.”

I honestly don’t know. When my phone dies I go to the nearest phone store and ask for the cheapest android phone they have in stock. They ask me what brand I want, what features are important to me–cheapest. They warn me that the camera isn’t as good as OtherPhone’s–cheapest. And the battery…–cheapest.
If I had to venture a guess I’d say it’s a Redmi? And I suppose it’s bad.
It was 150€ 4 years ago. I can’t fathom sinking 500€ on a phone.
But like, seriously. I’ve been (mostly jokingly) begging my husband’s girlfriend to move in for a decade. Daily life would be SO MUCH easier with 3 adults at home.
Oh okay then, sorry.
