Reading this, all I can think about is all the confidential information that are probably getting leaked to the AI providers.

According to the article, they use the gained time to do more work. This doesn’t seem like a win to me, they do more work but still are paid the same. In fact, if they pay for AI, then they get even less while providing more value to the corporation.

Neet, if NixOS get used more and more then the skills I acquired making my config will become marketable.

No one is safe from the enshittification!

Oh yeah, I’m never going back to the official YouTube app ever again, especially since they let those garbage ads go through.
One thing I really like is the sponsor block, not having to manually skip the sponsor segment make the viewing experience better.

There were some ads that I have seen on YouTube that I found unsettling before I started using Morphe. They were basically taking some celebrities from where I live and using AI to put them in embarrassing situation that never happened with headline like: “You will never guess who was found naked at X place.” I also hate the ones that use a celebrity and use AI to try to make them endorse a course or some other garbage.
Seriously, if I was one of the person in those ads, I would sue Google. I feel those ads being allowed on YouTube might give them some legitimacy for people that are not good at recognizing AI generated content.
As an example, here is one of Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney pushing for some bitcoin: https://youtu.be/uAhlKVTDtiw

He added: “However, at our company, the parts that relate to the charm and individuality of the released works—such as scenarios, character designs, and basic settings—are all created by human hands.”
That read like the AI disclaimer I see on Steam games that clearly use AI for more then what they disclaim.

Maybe you would be interested in ReactOS which is an operating system built from scratch to be compatible with Windows.
As for your question, you could probably make it so that it look like Linux is handling Executable files natively, but behind the scene you can’t get away from having something that convert Windows system calls into Linux system call.
I mainly use Amazon because returning a product is usually pretty straightforward and I don’t know if that would be the case when ordering from the manufacturer.

Sharing this because I think it’s funny, but someone opened an issue on Mullvad’s github about the questionable donations of one of the cofounders: https://github.com/mullvad/mullvadvpn-app/issues/10685

This honestly seem pretty good, they even offer mail aliasing. I think I’m gonna migrate to them once my one year subscription to Mullvad end.

Yup, I was thinking the same thing, the more people that can get on the Linux train, the better.
If it’s any consolation, the ruling class doesn’t like us owning things. So, chance are high that everyone will end up being renters.
I genuinely cannot believe that they think this is a good idea. After their whole Sora thing failed, you would think they would have gotten wiser, guess that’s not the case. I cannot see a world where this thing do anything, but flop. Maybe they will sell them at a lost, but, even then, I have doubt that it will succeed.

Something similar that really pissed me off was when someone was caught selling Blender (open source 3d modeling application).

Geez, I wonder why would anyone want to kill such a nice old gentleman.

Interesting, I didn’t consider they could do it this way, but it make perfect sense. Thanks for bringing this up.
This is still pretty much bleeding edge technology, who’s to say that the way we are currently doing thing is the most optional one? I’d rather they stop building these massive data centers and instead have their researchers focus on making these models run on consumer level hardware since throwing more and more compute power at the problem is not sustainable in the long run.
