Yeah, but I still hope there’s a non-AI version of this somewhere out there, because there’s still issues with consistency, etc.

My theme song: (FDJ by IFA Wartburg ft. Kasane Teto)
A comrade of the East, I come with gifts and a feast! A toast to the end of capitalism.
Anyways, yeah, I’m Caj. Just call me Caj, really. I’m that infuriating ‘leftist’ who can’t define herself of who she even is, much less what brand of anarchism/marxism I follow. I have read from both, though.
This doesn’t mean I don’t have positions, but I tend to err on the past, as I have less knowledge of it than I used to. Anyway here’s Marx:
“Workers of the world, unite!” and “Philosophers have hitherto only interpreted the world in various ways; the point is to change it.”
— Karl Marx, Communist Manifesto y Theses on Feuerbach, 1848 y 1845, respectively.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What lemmy client do you use on your phone? And why?
6·1 month agoJerboa, I was using Eternity by Bazalansky (Eternity is Infinity for Reddit but for… Lemmy) but it hasn’t been updated continuously, and I already had Jerboa as backup app just in case and it’s from the lemmy devs so it’s (for me) guaranteed to keep up with lemmy development

3·3 months agoFor comments that don’t have any comment on them, it’s like whatever but for I guess ‘heated’ internet arguements then really it’s up to the moderators at this point but the current implementation is fine if we assume the two or more people arguing are more cordial or respectful, and if not, there’s always a need for moderators in that way, I guess. Just my uninformed opinion.
hmm but i don’t think trotsky would not expect the dprk to support russia

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Is the world actually worse than it was 25 years ago, or does it just feel that way because I'm now more aware of how dysfunctional and cruel everything seems?
8·1 year agoBelieve it or not, the world has indeed been made worse, it’s just the era of American Domination due to the collapse of the USSR has waned due to previous socio-cultural issues ramping up and COVID-19 as well as the general beginning of change across the world due to the old generation dying out

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Aren't we basically morons if we elect another president?
5·1 year agoI mean, they’re already trying to make him one lol. Or be replaced by another ‘charismatic’ conservative, like Tucker.
If the dems can somehow grow that spine or move left to their actual base, then maybe… but until then, good luck USA.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Encrypt your Linux with LUKS, like seriously.
1·1 year agofair, I JUST researched it, but, I only have that drive, where my data is, sooo if I mess up, woops, there goes my system.
I guess I’ll do it if I setup my next computer…?

4·1 year agoI think I know how this works with rEFInd, but I haven’t done it because… my drive is a dual-boot so… yeah, unless I get a laptop and install only Linux in 2030 maybe I’ll do it by then… But by then, I might need the extra security anyway.

Lemmy is part of the Fediverse, and generally, people that are part of this space along with the general more libre-focused FOSS community are focused on the ethical, environmental and socio-economic effects of Generative AI than most. Currently, it is that this ‘AI’ space is dominated by big tech companies that are not too kind to open source anyway such as Alphabet Google, Microsoft-OpenAI and Claude, and currently, these affect the internet in the English-speaking space the most, which whatever your position is on the tech itself, you agree that there must be ‘something’ done to stem the tide that comes from in general, big tech takeover of our digital space and AI is a part of their destructive practices. These capitalist companies only exasperate the issue anyway, there is some (hotly debated) would-be benefits, especially in programming spaces and generally the LLM part, I don’t have an educated guess so I am not making one but until I personally think, that the veneer of AI / LLMs as this tech brought from the most complex data-centers of multibillion dollar companies into a technology that everyone can understand what it’s useful and what isn’t, and generally democratizing it. I don’t personally use a lot of AI / LLMs, but being in the programming / writing space will make me bump into it and so I eventually learn some quirks and details through that.
