How they get information about places like restaurants, shops etc?

I thought they relied on open street map

Mapy.cz relies on open street map, but it has advantage that you can add reviews and photos to places.

I think its the best replacement right now, but it needs more community

Hmm, unfortunately >99% people dont care… In Poland everything relies on us infrastructure. Government buys services from M$ or Google, when we have own european companies or it could invest in own infrastructure

Hmm, those people are using google photos right now, so I wont be worse ;) I wanted to make as simple solution as possible.

I moved to infomaniak myksute from two reasons, they have better app - proton drive on ios doesn’t allow search, and its less than 2chf per month for 1TB of storage

Yesterday I tried to import from Instagram at several Pixelfed instances. Most of them disabled it, one was returning error

Yeah, but if my server is in the local network, I have potential threat that someone will access my lan through public server
