@wahming I’ve only read a little but it’s very well written. I apologize if I came off rude. I was just surprised.
I definitely am swayed by the discussion, FTR
@wahming @AllenSmithee Press X for Doubt.
If you had said sugar is not *solely* to blame I might consider that thesis but pretending as though sugar is not a core part of the problem is… an interesting take, which I do not believe.
What are slimemold’s credentials? Do they cite research? Just curious. This non-HTTPs website seems like a dubious source to me. But I might be wrong. That is a cursory judgement.
Will check out if there’s any research cited that promotes that thesis
So interesting to me when I see this opinion. May I ask, are you American?
I am American and feel as though I’ve seen an uptick of people feeling this way.

@kratoz29 Yes it appeared in my feed. I am not sure exactly what I followed to enable that lol. I’ll go look into it
@kratoz29 Obviously I wrote this from Mastodon though so I still primarily use kbin/Lemmy through mastodon. But when I do pop over to the other Lemmy apps I tend to login through my Beehaw account.
@kratoz29 Beehaw. Seemed like a great community.
@rbits you are absolutely correct. I edited my post but edits may not propagate to all servers
@atomWood @MaxElFantasma Recently renamed to Vger I think. https://vger.app
@railsdev @idk837384 It’s the price, right? People shit on it for its price. You didn’t mention price once! Lol
@confusedbytheBasics In my opinion yes. Kbin more so than Lemmy and Mastodon.
@confusedbytheBasics @Emu short and distinctive names tend to be coveted. I guess because easier to discovery / remember / protect via copyright? Idk but there must be a reason basically ALL products that become dominant are 2 or 3 syllables names that are not (usually) normal words. Definitely a trend but NOT a rule
@hsl @NumerousGeorg The iOS app Mlem shows the server as well as the community for each post fwiw. Wefwef doesn’t show this yet I think, would love that feature in Wefwef.
@Retirix_YT Totally reasonable. not offended at all if anything I felt my reaction was unreasonable, is why I deleted :)
I thought I read more judgment of others in your comment(s) than I’m reading now. Totally fair to personally not partake and express that!
@Retirix_YT I responded to you but then deleted the comment because decided engaging wasn’t worth it haha.
@Retirix_YT @ilikekeyboards If that’s truly how you feel, you shouldn’t say you think it doesn’t rock. That expresses disapproval, even if you don’t mean it to.
what you just said about weed is what religious extremists say about being gay - a much more harmful take than being anti-weed, imo. Just using this as an example to illuminate why your OG comment connotes greater judgment / hostility to people who smoke weed.
If it doesn’t rock for you then say that not that it doesn’t rock ya see?
@MudMan
I think this is an interesting topic
This comment from an old Reddit post seems to contain some knowledge, imo

As noted in that comment, in reading Goethe’s Faust I remember distinctly that line, ERITUS SICUT DEUS, SCIENTES BONUM ET MALUM.
Something about its oldness, religiosity and simplicity make it magical to me
