I need to switch to this. I assume you get a web UI as well!
This is fair! You have to be an enthusiast and/or stubborn as hell to get through a new setup, esp where webdav is not packaged like other apps. Maybe choose a cloud sync option.
This is also my approach. You need a server someplace to do it. However VPNs like tailscale help a lot with this. I have a personal webdav just for joplin sync.
Oh yeah, podman let’s me run all the containers as user-space systemd services.
Tailscale service configs for HTTPS ingress and DNS resolution. Podman quadlets / podlets for everything except backup software and tailscale itself. I use the open version of VS code to edit config files in place, but I push them to a private git as well as having them backed up. Storage for app data, media, and configs (everything but OS) is via NFS shares from my gaming PC’s RAID volume. I can run a plenty of apps on an old thinkpad this way. After you configure the first few quadlets with tailscale, it gets real straightforward, but there is a learning curve. Yes, I use SSH, but it is the remote conmection and terminal in Code.

Well, I just used a similar adapter in my tower to get more sata ports. M.2 is not just for laptops. Even my ancient mobo had a slot.

My thoughts exactly, but they also suck up more than the commons, according to our intellectual property laws. I was glad when the courts decided that LLM products were not copyright-able works. A commons for the models also means much less redundant training infrastructure, i.e. fewer data centers, and ability to reign in market externalities, like burning fossil fuels to power them.
Separated at birth?

This was an episode of Blacklist IRL?

… until Israel honors the ceasefire in Lebanon and Gaza. Many headlines omit the stated reason for halted talks.

I am not here to defend that institution at all.

The pope’s AI encyclical was good reading and reminds us to center human dignity, compassion, etc. Lots of ethics to explore with regard to AI and related cultural phenomena.

Yeah, sometimes the chemicals are signals and they are telling you things. Sometimes they are noise. Either way they are hard to filter.

I think it is also about the terms of the debate and definitions of self. For me the absurdity is to propose invisible essences that transcend physical reality. My body is my self and I kind of own or rent the material that makes me work. The processes are physical as well, but they are mine too. I freely make decisions all the time, all by myself. There is no other self worth talking about.

Seriously. Why are chemicals absurd? Answer: They are not absurd. They are arranged and tuned to your relations with your surroundings. They are sensory organs. Ignoring your senses is a choice I guess, especially when they are badly calibrated or misinformed by fake inputs (social media, rage bait, w/e)

Came here to say it. Glad to find it said. Everyone’s rights are threatened by this.

Close the lid, buddy. You gave your only good ideas to a stranger and they made you obsolete.

Thanks! I suspected as much, but lack adequate expertise to comment.
Things are getting kinda cyberpunk out here in The Sprawl.
